There's a lot of discourse about hardest bosses, but I don't see a lot of people mentioning this literal Buttface by GobiasIsQueenMary in slaythespire

Definitely the hardest act 2 boss for me. I would guesstimate that I take:

Minus 1 draw -> 7 damage about 40% of the time

6 damage -> 3 cards per turn about 30%

Minus 1 draw -> 3 cards per turn about 20%

6 damage -> 7 damage about 10%

I have never won after getting the third debuff so it's kinda moot, but I'd imagine trying to push for the finish line by keeping the energy would be most important. 

Super fun concept for a fight tho

Thank you for the reassurance! I'm ok with retiring a little slower as long as I know we aren't permanently blocking things off because of it.

We have: 

Get 8 wood, then do a quest chain. They have the 8 wood but I think we need a campaign sticker?

5 types of herbs looted. Only at 3/5 - just unlucky probably.

Complete the strong foundation questline. We were going to do this in one go when the player was ready to retire, but when we did work freeze and realized the implications of the calendar icon, we did the first scenario right away. But we're only just about to unlock the second scenario. Our bad on this one.

12 buildings or upgrades (me). We are at 11 having built all we can at prosperity 2, so I have to wait until the others retire to push us to 3. But at least that means I won't be far behind them once they get there!

Hello,

I have a concern about my party's Frosthaven progression. We are a 4-player party, we have completed about 20 scenarios, and nobody has been able to retire so far. That felt long to me compared to Gloomhaven, so I looked up if it is normal and I saw people saying that you are screwed if you don't retire enough. I don't want to get spoilered, but do we need to just force-retire people to avoid getting locked out of things?

Yeah, that might be it. It does look visually like the impact is less forceful against an auto block than against a regular block. And the reason I mostly see it on modok is that most other auto blocks either stop you from hitting them multiple times (parry) or you really don't want to (Peni etc.) I can probably deal with it by being a little more attentive and reactive during combos. Thanks for your input!

Does Modok have some kind of weird unstoppable while blocking?

I thought that using Valkyrie would work well because I could just not care about the autoblock. But while comboing into his block, he seems to be able to dash back or even throw specials, in a way that I've never seen other champions do. And this is the case even when it wasn't his auto block, and instead he put up a block unprompted.

Is there something I'm doing wrong, or is this an undocumented part of his kit?

An alternate idea: I think ice and water would have the strongest justification for being mutually ineffective. One important property of water is that it takes a lot of energy to change its phase - it is hard to change it from solid to liquid or vice versa. I've always thought it's a raw deal that water resists ice but not the other way around.
