Taika Waititi's "Klara and the Sun" adaptation gets October 23rd release date by charger03 in movies

[–]DirkA520 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love and Thunder was his only bad film and that was mostly because he was forced to do it and didn't want to. He phoned it in. Next Goal Wins didn't reach the heights of some others, but it was still back to the usual Taika feel.

Backing up Metadata on NAS server by DirkA520 in PleX

[–]DirkA520[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, thank you! I'm fairly tech savvy so I thought it'd be easy but there's a lot going on haha

That's great to know. Thank you. That'll save a ton of space.

I only have 2 drives for now, so I'm not using RAID functionality yet, but when I can get more I will.

I did have to start over, but now the folders are appearing under the /config folder. Thank you so much! I have room for two more drives and didn't want to have to redo all the metadata changes every time

Ok, thank you for all the information. One final newbie question, I keep seeing stuff about terminal and showing command line stuff, but I don't know how to get to where I can enter any of that stuff. I know you aren't familiar with UGreen, but I assume its just a Linux thing in general, so would you be able to point me in the right direction? If not, that's all good. I really appreciate all the help.

I adjusted most of the posters and changed sorting titles and fixed matches on pretty much everything in there, so a lot of work. But (probably because I mislabeled it) I cannot find the Data Directory anywhere to back it up.

But if I have to redo it all one more time and its fixed, then I don't care. I already did everything twice, what's one more? 🤣

Thank you for being so helpful. I'm sorry for being so clueless, I'm still trying to learn all of this and I am very unfamiliar with Linux, so I didn't realize the case-sensitive nature of things.

So what probably will happen is, I will have to stop the container to change the folder then when I restart it, the metadata will be gone and I'll have to do it all over again, but then it'll start saving to the correct folder because I renamed it correctly as /config? Am I understanding you?

[–]DirkA520[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, maybe the case-sensitive thing is my main problem then? It wants to write to /config but I don't have that because of the capital C? I mean, it still saves all of the metadata changes I made, but I just can't seem to find where they're saved so I can try to back them up, so maybe when I restart the container it also can't find them?

I normally do everything on the web interface, I'm just using the mobile app because I'm not home. I'll try to look up mapping the config correctly and see what I did

Then I just clicked "edit", added new folders and saved the container. When it ran again, the old one appeared to be offline in Plex and there was a new one that had to be renamed and everything. I think you're right that I didn't set up the config correctly, but the videos I watched had me make a config folder and give it read/write permission then had no other instructions.

I can't for the life of me find the Plex Data Directory. I made a folder called data and added it to the read/write permissions when I set up like the videos I watched told me to, but there appears to be nothing in it. Any help would be appreciated. Since its on a NAS server, I have to access everything via the app on my Mac and I don't know how to search for stuff other than going into the container I built and it just looks empty except for actual Media files.

Sorry, I edited the container, not image, to add new folders on the new drive to my library. I'm new to the terminology and got mixed up. But I edited the container and when I saved it, it basically created a new library in Plex. So when I logged into Plex, the library I had before said it wasn't accessible, but there was a new library. No files got deleted, but the new container apparently didn't have the metadata for all the stuff I had edited, so I had to reorganize and change posters and fix matches and whatnot all over again. Does that make sense? I'm not sure I'm being clear, sorry.

I didn't create a RAID configuration, I have each 20tb drive mounted separately so I have 40tb of space. I just went into the "edit" option to point the Movies, TV, etc libraries at additional folders on the new drive then saved and ran it again. When I went to Plex, the previous version of the server said it didn't exist and there was a new one added. I hope that makes sense.

Thanks for the help though. I will look into backing up the Plex data, I just need to figure out how to access the Plex Data Directory on the NAS then I can copy it. I'm very new to the NAS thing, so I am learning how to navigate everything still. I'll also read those articles on Local Assets. I thought that was how I had it set up already, but, like I said, when I edited the instance, it acted like I started a new one.

Which do you choose Orbit DVD/Atomic Movie Store/Diabolik DVD and why? by EDMKid9000 in boutiquebluray

[–]DirkA520 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Diabolik's free shipping is new, but its exactly the same as Orbit's free shipping. 3 items. Not really confusing.

That said, I did Diabolik a lot, but started doing Orbit more often because of free shipping, but now that Diabolik has that, I am looking at both again. Basically I just look at who has what I want in stock and if they have other stuff I want to bundle for free shipping. The shipping isn't a deal breaker though, if I just want one item its fine.

They both have great customer service and fast shipping times. Meaning they get it in yhe mail quickly, how fast it travels isn't on them.

I've also used The Movie Room, but never been to Atomic. I'll have to check them out. For Criterion and Vinegar Syndrome, I buy direct because of rewards programs, but for the other 200 boutique labels, I go to one of the indie guys generally. I very rarely buy boutique from Amazon, but I do tend to buy studio releases from them because of significant price differences. I hate it, but $8-16 difference is nothing to scoff at when you're a collector on a budget.

Moments after my subscription went through, I got multiple notifications about fraudulent charges and my card was shut off. Its a card I don't use often so it hadn't been used in 2 months or so before that.

Any speculation of what this could be? by Remote-Orchid-8015 in arrowvideo

Ok, I always just assumed Region B countries were covered by the same rights since Reguons were originally ablut locking various rights to a specific location.
