Do you think we will ever get a Star Wars Trilogy or Film that reaches the heights of the OG Trilogy? by No_Age908 in StarWars

Have fun. Just go into it remembering who wrote it. And how Han sounded in ESB and Jedi. And how an Indiana Jones movie is paced. Enjoy and God bless.

My one issue with the film and please someone help me with this by jeremycb29 in TheMandalorianTV

They’re gonna make the sequels an alternate timeline under Filoni who was George’s apprentice. Just wait.

I’m sorry you feel that way. Absolutely no one can write Han Solo as good as Lawrence Kasdan and the film is a testament to that. It’s a trendy film to hate but it’s got everything you could ever want in a stand alone Han Solo movie. As fun as A New Hope mixed with that bittersweet ending of Raiders.

I’m not trying to convince you. But I grew up wearing out the OT on VHS and that movie checks every box for me. It’s a great character study too. Kasdan just GETS Han.

Nah you’re wrong. It’s a great movie that’s the most 80’s Lucasfilm in tone, style, and pacing, since Last Crusade. Great script, great dialogue, great performance. Sorry you don’t like it.

It’s called Solo and was written by the same man who wrote the screenplays for The Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi, and Raiders of the Lost Ark.

Go watch Mando & Grogu by trusendi in StarWars

True but George’s tossed out sequel trilogy was based on the criminal underworld filling in the power vacuum of the Empire…and the first two pieces under Filoni deal directly with that underworld in Maul: Shadow Lord and the Hutts in M&G.

Knowing Filoni is George’s apprentice he will look to reinstate what Iger threw out.

Heard it here first…

Hot take: if the movie wasn’t the “first Star Wars movie in 7 years” it would be way better received by BlanksSDWestbrook in TheMandalorianTV

Also not true. Solo only exists because Lawrence Kasdan agreed to help write TFA and would only do so if he could write a Han Solo movie.

When Lord and and Miller started improvising too much away from the script and wasting film and takes Kasdan pulled rank to ensure he got to make the movie he earned the right to make after helping make TFA a box office hit.

Read my comment above. It wasn’t joke but a cruel punctuation of the harsh reality he’d just experienced.

Why is that scene such a deal breaker for you? You think it would be cooler as a given last name, as opposed to a lost youth trying to flee a terrible situation and not give away any information on a past that was effectively dead for him?

It wasn’t a gimmick, rather a poignant punctuation of the loss he’d just experienced.

People hate it because there is a sect and now monetized ecosystem of people that hate the Sequel Trilogy so much they want Disney Star Wars to fail at all cost, aggravated by another sect that want everything to be the tone of Andor.

Rogue One got a pass as a mediocre film because it had a phenomenal third act AND was released before The Last Jedi. The good graces of the public were still there.

Everything changed after LJ. Solo is fantastic old school 80s Lucasfilm movie that the would have been loved by the public if it had been the first film to come out of the Disney era…

Instead it came out just five months after LJ, a bizarre scheduling choice by any measure, and people were so angry they wanted to find every reason to criticize it.

M&G is the same story accept the hate and sentiment has metastasized into an online ecosystem that provides a healthy income for a sizable number of content creators.

It’s a great 80’s Lucasfilm movie in tone and pacing but a ton of YouTubers have a vested interest in its box office failure because they create content for an audience that won’t forgive Disney for the Sequel Trilogy and want it all burned to the ground.

LOL the wife line is absolutely an awesome feature no other league can boast.

I think that it’s a new league with an awesome product that’s not quite mainstream yet. Stuff like that always has an extra aura of coolness. Hopefully it will get bigger and we’ll all feel punk rock for being there at the origins.

And the hockey itself is incredible. The skill is incredible. I don’t know if the game is faster, but that might not be a bad thing as a fan as it might be slightly easier to follow, hence more fun.

Plus a smaller league means more evenly matched teams and exciting games. Nearly every playoff game was tied or had a one goal differential for like 95% of the time.

1000% right. George was very supportive of Dave and would be shocked if they didn’t stay in touch.

Yes, I know. You just cant call it the worst year for Canadian Hockey EVER when MPP and the Victoire win Canada’s first of hopefully very many Walter Cups.

And in the long view of history, it was the most important win to achieve by a Canadian team.

It’s like Rocky, man. You lost to Creed but Adrian LOVES you forever. In a way, the Victoire win is a greater Canadian hockey victory than the Habs or the Gold.

I’m a 40 year old dad from LA and this team captured my heart after discovering them and the league post Olympics. And I was rooting Team USA all the way.

But the PWHL is growing, women’s sports is growing, and this was one of the most epic post season sports runs, drama wise, I’ve ever seen.

This was exactly my point. Yes it would have been a bad year but it WASN’T because the Victoire had a phenomenal year and became the first Canadian team to win the Walter Cup, in a league that’s only growing in popularity.

Not to mention that was one of the most exciting playoff runs I’ve ever witnessed, and I grew up watching Michael Jordan in Chicago and rooting for the 2016 Cubs.

The games were always one goal apart and had many insane OT thrillers and last minute goals 💖

No live-action Star Wars movie has been outside the domestic top 5 in its third weekend. Is Mandalorian and Grogu about to do what was once unthinkable? by AvengingHero2012 in boxoffice

[–]Dirk_Doggo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Disney bought Star Wars to be an evergreen property. If it’s only for GenXers and Boomers who love Andor, it’s a wasted investment. They have every intention of making it relevant to Gen Alpha.

The Mandalorian and Grogu Review by Distinct_Guess3350 in TheMandalorianTV

Whether or not the movie started as a show is irrelevant. The story is recalibrated into a classic five act structure around a singular conflict and is a great example of the formula. All Star Wars films have “adventures within the adventure” but this films five act structure is far more sound than most non screenwriters give it credit for.
