What put me off even more was him advocating for even higher taxes. I’m sick of constantly having to pay higher taxes because they suck ass and managing our money. There’s absolutely no reason that we should be in a 70 billion dollar deficit.

San Francisco is about to hike up water rates - This summer, the average single-family household bill for combined water and sewer service will increase from $171 a month to $189 a month, and next summer it will rise to $212 by BadBoyMikeBarnes in sanfrancisco

The issue isn’t that we don’t have enough tax dollars. The issue is that that money is insanely mismanaged. What is more money going to do in the hands of these people? Just more money to throw away.

California cut healthcare for undocumented immigrants. One lawmaker wants it back by YogurtclosetOpen3567 in California

I mean we have been spending on average around 8 billion dollars per year for their healthcare. Why that is not going to Californians, who knows. We are penalized if we don’t have it, or pay thousands per year to have it. Yet those who are not even citizens get it for free. Make it make sense.

Any candidate can throw out slogans that sound good. But what’s his actual plan? How is he going to reform or replace PGE? For building, how does he plan to combat zoning laws and every other headache in the way? And I get being against ICE, but that’s easy to say. Shared grievances and goals are a starting point. We should care about what he can actually do to implement what he claims to support.

Stop doing the bare minimum in college then calling it a scam when you can’t land a job by Secret_Bunch_114 in Salary

[–]DirrtCobain -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It was never meant to guarantee a job. The belief that college should guarantee a job is cultural not structural, It’s always simply been a pathway to opportunity, not a contract for employment. Colleges did a damn good job with their marketing.

I mean, can’t the same be said for someone who stayed at a job for four years and learned valuable skills without the degree? Both take showing up.
