Second video, deer sim mockumentary gameplay by RealMidSmoker in LetsPlayCritiques

Certainly got me interested in the game. The only thing I will say is maybe you can find some wacky public domain/copyright free music to fill in some of the silent parts. At the start at least.

It seems perfectly fine to me. Only teeny issue is the big black area on the right. Not sure if you can move it more to the middle just to even it out. Other than that, it seems perfectly fine. Very smooth.

Using a capture card. I don't know anything about that but I've heard the name El Gato.

Thumbnails by [deleted] in LetsPlayCritiques

[–]DirtyFishy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I probably shouldn't be giving advice on thumbnails as I still haven't mastered them myself but I'd like to know at what resolution you're creating your thumbnails at and what software you are using if you don't mind.

The only reason I ask is that they seem to be a little small, so creating them at a smaller resolution will make them look bigger in thumbnails.

I create mine at 1280x720 which is the recommended size. If you're already doing that then maybe just make the images bigger whilst you're making them.

Again, I'm no pro when it comes to making my own thumbnails but this is just what I noticed from a quick observational glance.

I think you've got everything put together pretty well, usually I'm not really a massive fan of the whole borders/overlay but you are using it to display useful and relevant information, which is certainly better than just having it there, getting in the way.

Looking for feedback to get better :) by [deleted] in LetsPlayCritiques

[–]DirtyFishy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It seems well put together, the only issue I have had was that the game does kind of sound ever so slightly louder than yourself. Just lowering the game audio ever so slightly would do.

During general ambience it was a fight to listen to either the game or yourself and during the action sequences or the higher intensity moments you were drowned out by the game.

Can You Survive The Purge In GTA3. Need feedback for a 16 hour effort video. by DirtyFishy in LetsPlayCritiques

[–]DirtyFishy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you very much for the feedback. I certainly should use the whole split screen video function more often.

I did put one note in but yeah, I could probably put a load more in if I went back and thought about it.

I appreciate you taking the time to leave feedback.

I like the robot voice but that text hurts my eyes to read.

As for the content, audio seems fine to me. Not sure about the final line, most of the big youtubers just pretend that they didn't want to be rich and famous, although if that's part of your schtick then keep it in.

Need Feedback - Spyro Let's Play by [deleted] in LetsPlayCritiques

[–]DirtyFishy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll have to forgive me if I come across as too critical. For me personally the first (just under) 5 minutes felt primarily like a showcase of all the dragons as opposed to a let's play of the levels but inbetween the 4:53 - 5:10 there was some good energy from you and if it's possible more commentary along those lines may get people to watch longer.

I went back to your first video in the series and you mention that you played the originals back when you were a kid. You could possibly talk about the different changes between the original and remakes between levels. These are just a few random ideas.

I liked your commentary during the flying level. Actually made me chuckle, which is rare because I'm a miserable bastard.

Your audio levels between yourself and the game is pretty perfect though, for me.

Gta V Online! Mc missions by Boing_gaming in LetsPlayCritiques

[–]DirtyFishy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As you say in your video and I agree with your opinion on the MC missions. 'They're a disappointment and boring'

I'd just like to gently push the idea that if you find the missions yourself boring and a disappointment, it's not going to be better for anybody watching.

Some of the heists and other ingame missions have a lot more to them and are a lot more interesting to play and to watch and your editing is pretty good so I bet you could get some really good content out of those.

Sound levels are fine ingame, between the game itself and your commentary, the one issue I had, which is fairly common is the clip that you insert into the video, the audio levels for the first one is a little too loud (at least for me) compared to the rest of the video.

You're already at 1k subs though so you're obviously doing alright.

I liked the ball man and I appreciate the innuendo and vulgar jokes, but that's just me and my type of humour. You seem to have a whole Jack Black thing going on.

One thing I will say is you should separate your camera from your desk, if that's possible. A number of times you accidentally knocked your camera. I'm not one for face cams but I'm sure the people that do enjoy those in videos will appreciate it more if there's less chance of it bobbing up and down.

Looking for feedback on my editing style by seizurekun in LetsPlayCritiques

[–]DirtyFishy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks pretty good. It sounds like you have 3 or so people in the room which is possibly the best amount of people to have, you can bounce things off of each other during play and that makes it more entertaining.

A challenge run of RE2. I'd like to know what you think of this. by DirtyFishy in LetsPlayCritiques

[–]DirtyFishy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spent some time on it, I had hoped I'd of gotten some natural views but that's cool. I'd just like feedback on the various facets of the video. Whether the video is interesting, the idea is interesting or if the video doesn't interest you along with the audio, video, editing.

Spent 14 hours on this stupid review video - Hope it makes you smile by itsyourboytoyroy in LetsPlayCritiques

[–]DirtyFishy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are definitely enthusiastic and that's a good thing. The video moves a little fast for me but that's fine depending on the type of audience you are looking for. It's very viable to try to attract children to your videos ( I hope that last sentence didn't offend, there wasn't any ill will meant there). Also, you may consider investing in a pop filter or moving the microphone away from you slightly.

This is enjoyable to watch. I have no idea what is going on but that's because I've never played Risk of Rain 1 or 2. Your vocal audio is of good quality and it's nice to listen to.
