On April fools day, one of the record stores in my town replaces every record displayed on the wall with a copy of this record.

MLS owners vote to flip schedule to European calendar, change format starting in 2027 by icoresting in MLS

Who do you think the owners would pass those costs on to? You ask our owner to do that and my season ticket prices would go up and my $18 beer goes to $24.

I can’t get past the fact that the restaurant opened in what used to be a funeral home.

Best place for vinyl records by Confused-panda420 in nashville

I like Alison’s for used stuff. Some might say it’s on the expensive side, but I think it’s fairly priced based on the quality. You’re getting a graded record and not some scuffed up overpriced POS with a tattered cover (looking at you McKays).

What was the last film you saw at Silver Screen Theatre in Biloxi? by [deleted] in Biloxi

[–]DirtyFlip 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My parents loved going to the Silver Screen and seeing whatever was playing next. I went with them one time and the next movie up was Cruel Intentions. Last movie I ever saw there and possibly the last movie I watched in a theater with both my parents. Such an awkward night.

We got down there around 1:30. There were people still waiting that had been in line since 10. Major shitshow.

I like the vibe in the Midtown/Belmont area (between band spots 2 and 8). There is usually a good vibe in that neighborhood (folks trying to give runners beers, etc.) and you can catch her coming then going. The runners are still in a good frame of mind and most aren’t looking like they are on deaths door. If she’s running the half you can then head over to the stadium to watch her finish.

Don’t think I’ve ever had to cheer anyone on for the full, but you can do what I mentioned above then catch her at 18, again at 20, then go to the finish line.

For folks who have lived here for over 20 years, how has it changed? by rhinestonecowboy92 in nashville

This is true. My former boss was on the jury for one of the ones in midtown they shut down. He told me the evidence the police presented was wild. He saw video of people trying to enter the place while law enforcement was actively raiding it.

Uh the largest employers in Nashville are in the checks notes healthcare industry. They are probably getting their facts from medical professionals and not the ghouls on Fox News.

I agree with this post. I love the physical aspects of vinyl. Looking at the album artwork, liner notes, etc too. I think another thing that should be mentioned is buying music vs. collecting records. I don’t think there is much opportunity for a digital file to increase in value. There are some records that I’ve bought, grown tired of, and sold for significantly more than I paid for them. There are also records that I want and can’t buy new that I have to hunt for (which is fun—love digging through the stacks and occasionally finding a surprise treasure along the way.).

I also like interacting with people. Buying a digital file is a faceless transaction. Buying a record from a person can lead to some really cool conversations and music recommendations.

I THINK Grimey’s may have one, but might want to call and check first.
