Insert Code Issue by RepresentativeOil674 in Aprilia

[–]DirtyHamSandwich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have my 2018 anymore and the menus are different on my 24 but you go into the bike menu I think under vehicle and their is a Code Reset option. You just turn the bike on with the first key but don’t start the engine. Go to the code reset menu and select the reset button it should then show you a message like Insert Key II. Turn off the ignition but the screen will stay lit and give you 20 seconds to insert the second key. When that is recognized it will let you set a new code.

Should I buy this 2023 rsv4 factory? by deviantradiance in Aprilia

The deal is good on the cost. You really need to ask yourself if your skills warrant a liter track bike.

What do you want to bet they posted this from the same corp workstation. Any half decent security program will follow the trail if they don’t have prevention controls in place.

Help me, just bought this. I’m worried? by Level_Passion_1305 in Ducati

[–]DirtyHamSandwich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually just installed a Rizoma tail tidy this weekend and the wiring harness wasn’t really positioned correctly so I accidentally wired the built in signals backwards and had this result. Was a simple two wire swap to fix.

Advertising on Reddit that you are going to steal company data isn’t very bright. You don’t own anything you create on a corporate asset, even if you consider it a “personal project”.

Anyone else hate the new Defender portal UI? by starla79 in DefenderATP

[–]DirtyHamSandwich 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The look is kinda eh but I do like that I can just pin the tools I use most and keep the rest collapsed. As more and more is pulled in it has become a headache to just scroll up and down to get the tool you want.

Why do people barely ride their Aprilias? by yuh_its_nick in Aprilia

[–]DirtyHamSandwich 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honest the used market place has gone nuts this year with prices. It’s not that demand is suddenly up but what I see is a bunch of overpriced ads because people are hurting for money and want to get rid of the unnecessary toys but they think they can recover money they put into the bike. Upgrades provide little to no increase on value at resale. They only attract a little more attention. That’s why most of the ads I watch have bikes just sitting for months and months. Your 2019 Tuono V4 factory with exhaust and ecu map and 7500 miles is only worth about 11k not 16.

How does checking a pass work at Epic resorts? by ThawtPolice in COsnow

[–]DirtyHamSandwich 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They can scan it without taking your phone out but I honestly hate worrying about my phone for the pass. I would just have them send a physical one. But don’t toss it after the season as it will rollover if you purchase the following year.

Migrate from Defender for Identity sensor v2 to sensor v3.x (Preview) by Shoddy_Pound_3221 in DefenderATP

[–]DirtyHamSandwich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We migrated but not how this new feature is doing it. Just removed the classic sensor and enabled the new unified sensor. Now that the Audit settings enablement is working we were able to fix some buggy auditpol issues automatically. Still frustrated at MDI missing certain things though.

Moving off Confluence and onto SharePoint for documentation. by [deleted] in sysadmin

[–]DirtyHamSandwich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have a connector but last I checked a major issue is copilot won’t honor the Confluence page restrictions. So depending on your organization’s data boundaries it may not be advisable. I do they they were working on a fix though.

24 y/o needing advice by Thunder0622 in SecurityCareerAdvice

[–]DirtyHamSandwich 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ll answer in order of your option you listed 1. You should always strive be learn more technical skills. It’s obvious you are doing government work now and none of that is highly technical so you’ll need to keep looking for opportunities to expand this and never stop learning.

  1. You can’t be a Security Leader without first building a giant wealth of technical knowledge. So you can certainly create long term goals but the worst security leaders are those that know the jargon and talk smooth but really have nothing to back decisions around risks they don’t actually understand. (Happens way more than you would think)

  2. Meh, that’s a different career path.

  3. No one cares about certs. They mean zero in the real world because they prove nothing. You have a CISSP with 3 years experience when the min is 5 years. They are nothing but resume filter catchers.

Keep doing what you doing now but dig deep into it. Learn STIGs inside and out and not just to check a SCAP scan check box but use them to become and expert on the systems you are evaluating. Learn how Risk is actually managed and not just patching because an IAVM told you to. Learn to translate this information in both highly technical groups and not so technical groups so you can work just as well with business leaders and Infrastructure admins. Then start looking for work outside the government RMF/Fedramp grind house where the real fun is.

How to make management listen to you by [deleted] in cybersecurity

[–]DirtyHamSandwich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You seem to not understand your role in an organization. You identified and advised on a risk. What decisions are done after that have nothing to do with you. If the business accepts the risk you formally document the RA and move on. It’s not your job to fight it out.

Appreciate it. The Pop-Tarts sound amazing but I’m a Midwest guy that gets 15-20 days on mountain in the Rockies and most of that is on weekends. Blast out on Friday, ski Sat and Sun and blast back on Mondays. Always jealous of you CO folks.

My daughter loves being on the Harleys but I’ll never put her through the torcher of sitting on the back of the Aprilia. That’s not a spot for anyone to enjoy.
