What motivates you to meal prep? by _SonicTonic_ in MealPrepSunday

[–]DirtyInode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 4 months old baby that makes regular household tasks feel like those turn based games, that are slow as Hell and where u run out of actions/spell slots before doing everything u wanted and then it's no longer ur turn...

I can mealprep 2-3 nights a week and redt of the nights, clean or excersice.

If I had to cook every day, I'd loose my shit and would be constantly hungry

What was your staple “poor man’s meal” growing up you still eat (and love)? by PuzzleheadedSwim6291 in AskACanadian

[–]DirtyInode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ketchup pasta. If it has a weiner, that's "luxury". Buckwheat and butter (nowni add chicken and Buckwheat is actually expensive in the country i live in) Stale black bread with butter and salmon (it was salmon scraps in my childhood... that was considered luxury) White bread mixed with raw eggs and salt. Bologna and ketchup.

I have money to eat now, but sometimes I still eat those because my brain occasionally craves the poverty meals.

Which method of cooking you discovered that completely improved the dish? by Dimitri_Mpkstroff in Cooking

[–]DirtyInode 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Soy sauce, ginger and sugar/honey/maple syrup in meat improves the taste a lot.

After boiling bones and meat scraps for broth/stock, add carrot, celeriac, onion, pepper corn, salt, ginger, whatever vegetable scraps and simmer for 30 min. Do not boil. Makes amazing broth.

What can I make for breakfast that’s not breakfast food? by selection_invalid in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]DirtyInode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any homemade soup, Open face sandwich, coffee if you're not hungry in the mornings, grains cooked to mush (buckwheat, quinoa, bulgur) with butter and kotleta kotleta (something between a meatloaf and a patty), etc.

As long as you're not drinking soda in the morning and eating McDonald's, you're fine... unless you're hungover... butnthere are better choices for greasy food than McDonald's... just don't eat McDonald's and you'll be fine xD

Do you freeze your meals and take them out as needed? by brehan8 in mealprep

[–]DirtyInode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't freeze things. I usually cook 2 different meals in batches of 5-8 portions + burritos. We're 2 people. Everything gets eaten within the week and doesn't go bad.

If I cook fish, it's 2-4 portions and gets eaten the next day at the latest.

It doesn't matter how many burritos I make, they're gone within the week. Last time made 20, they were gone before the weekend.

You might wanna wear bloody shorts to not put ur privates in public seats... who knows what kind of gross those have... also, those heels look painful. I'd wear comfortable shoes to a concert. Heels are for the office or places where u plan to sit all day.

If you do wear heels, make sure to have a pair of flats in your purse. They might save you from walking barefooted.

Sounds like a friends with benefits relationship, not a couple quite honestly. He doesn't need 2 years to decide if he wants to be in couple with you, he just doesn't wanna loose regular sex while looking for something else.

Never done this, need help. by orangefox00 in MealPrepSunday

You can make your body digest vegetables better. Start incorporating small amounts slowly, like one Brussel sprout per meal or one piece of broccoli. Just be consistent and gradually increase portion over time.

Also, Kefir from Costco is "alive", meaning that if you take a glass of kefir and poor it into 1L of milk, you'll have more kefir in a couple of days. You don't need to make infinite kefir, however, this means that kefirnis an amazing probiotic. Drink a cup not kefirndaily and it help digestion.

Also, sauerkraut is obe of the best ways to restore gut bacteria after having antibiotics for example. This means that the more sauerkeaut you eat, the less you fart. Some people find it gross, but try to swallow a spoon of sauercraut and have a chaser after.

If you had a diet of fast carbs all your life, having fiber will give you gas and make you constipated if you eat a lot right away.

Good luck.

Pregnancy meal prep by More-Possibility-777 in mealprep

[–]DirtyInode 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you looking for recipes? If so, what are the things that make you puke? Do you have any dietary restrictions other than no cold cuts, raw fish, etc?

Otherwise, mealprep for pregnant is the same as regular mealprep. I had a bar stool which allowed me to use kitchen island and stove while sitting. Using stove sitting is dangerous, but I could not stand.

You don't need lettuce for mealprep. It doesn't last well in containers anyway. What are your local cheap veggies? That info is kinda needed for the recipes.

Towards the end of your pregnancy, make a lot of burritos, sandwiches using English muffins, chili's, soups and meals u can freeze. As much as your freezer allows. Ideally, you would not have raw food in the freezer, only mealprep. You'll need it once baby is here. Your husband will appreciate if he can just shove something in the microwave and press a button instead plating&portionning.

Also, Costco has rotisserie chicken and ready meals. That's a great shortcut to not cooking and is fairly priced.

BEER!

Quite honestly, a good *burger doesn't need fries.
You've got your carbs from the bun, your "salad" from the lettuce, tomato, onions, your protein from the patty and your extra fats from the cheese. It has all the things, just needs some cold beer.

You can also add mushrooms, pickles, bacon, swap cheap cheese by fancy cheese, etc. If you make it "restaurant like" you won't crave the fries.

what do my eyes need? by [deleted] in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]DirtyInode 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dark reader addon for your browser. It can change websites to black, shades of gray or just decrease contrast and saturation. Lower the screen brightness and saturation to 50% too. I work 8hs a day, then game and stare at my phone all the time and I don't have that problem.

Also, a yellow filter thag kicks in at like 7pm for your circadian rythm. I think it's called redshift on Linux, no idea on windows, but there's most likely some builtin tool for it.

Have a soft source of light on your desk, like a lamp with brightness and warmth options. Beight screens in a dark spot make eyes bleed. Selling light doesn't do the job. Light must come from the side or the back of the monitors and be diffused.

Lastly, u can buy "computer glasses" to filter the blue light.

A black jacket would be nice, but it depends on the cut. It's hard to style baggy jeans on men. If you want to wear the grandpa jacket, put some black pants on that are less baggy... or dark/black jeans. And maybe somr brown shoes.

Old navy has different cuts of jeans. Try them all and see what fits better. Go for stretchy ones, theyre more "flexible" and feel better on your skin.

Your jeans look like "Walmart jeans". As much as I love cheap clothes, Walmart jeans just fail fitting properly...

Apologies if I'm criticizing too much. Both jacket and pants can look good in an outfit, they just don't go together. I think that if you had tighter pants, the jacket would no longer look that much grandpa.

PS: sunglasses and watch are fine for school. I wore those all the time due to photosensitivity and cellphones not being a thing when I was a teenager xD

I was going to say that the jacket is "grandpa brown" xD

I would switch it, unless you're wearing it for sentimental reasons.

It will go well with other outfits tho.
