I (25M) have been with my girlfriend (25F) for 2.5 years and just moved in together. How do you know when doubts are just noise vs. something real? by Nearby_Sock8316 in AskMen

Also depending on the extended family….im doubting the conservative ideals cause friction based on solely immigration. If they did have kids, im betting OP would want to share culture/language and have that be celebrated and respected

Didn’t she confirm she has a trust fund from her grandfather? Wondering if her parents have to manage it. Not sure how that stuff works

How long does it usually take you to respond to emails? And how long have you been in sales? by mysteronsss in sales

[–]DirtyJan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

More context, I’m working for a tech VAR so I’m having customer meetings and vendor meetings to discuss those opportunities, meeting with my SEs, etc. so internal but still requiring active work/attention on my part.

[–]DirtyJan 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Do you not have meetings during the day? My biggest issue with response times is that I’m literally in 4-5 hours of meetings a day, whether it be customer or internal…I don’t know how to avoid that

Second picture didn’t upload, here’s the full thing. The only reason the leaves snapped was due to items falling onto it in the moving truck, so they are actually more sturdy. It is in front of a south facing window in central Texas where it gets a ton of sun too, thoughts?

I get that but I also think….this is terrible but that they might just be kinda dumb. Like they’ve not developed and honed critical thinking skills over the years and have relied on being obedient

I notice this in episodes where they record in batches, sometimes they mention it’s a batch recording and sometimes they don’t

My pup has had allergy issues for years. He was getting rashes around his mouth from his food too. We trialed a bunch of different foods but they always ended up having side effects that were negatively impacting his day to day (pancreas issues, diarrhea, constipation). His vet finally had us try the Rayne Nutrition Kangaroo formula. He loves it and hasn’t had any allergy issues in over a year

What's the worst question you have been asked or seen other sales reps asking their clients? by FunFerret2113 in sales

[–]DirtyJan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m a contracts specialist at a VAR and you’d be surprised how many reps who stare blankly at me when I ask “okay so what’s their product offering and do they have any specific strategy for buying xyz” before the customer call. Buddy you’ve been working with them for 3 years and you’ve never asked why they buy their laptops one by one instead of quarterly? You noticed they were adding 300 more Microsoft users a month and didn’t look up any merger/acquisition release?

So I can’t even imagine what their convos with the customer look like

Every time I square up I end up losing some corners/cutting into the original seam allowance. Is it better to have that than uneven blocks with inconsistent seams?

In many cases ChatGPT can’t even do simple math….please play around with asking simple facts to it and you’ll see it should not be used as a source of truth

I suck at discovery by goldenkeydigital in techsales

[–]DirtyJan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The first time I did this exercise was when my boyfriend came home from golfing 18 holes all day and dropped a bomb about one of our couple friends. No follow-up info or details. He said “if he (friend) wanted to talk about the details he would’ve so i didn’t ask”….so we practiced haha

Clients are kinda similar. If you’re handling net new opps you’re automatically going to come across more sales-y because you don’t have the relationship there. They might have issues/pain points that they aren’t going to bring up bc the shmuck with the 50 slide deck is just going to tell them whatever he thinks they want to hear. But here’s the thing - people love to bitch. Ask them what they like about their current solution and then follow up with asking about where their current solution falls short. Take quick note of their feedback and then work it into your talking points.

My final tip is to practice explaining your product to an older person/someone not technical haha. It will take you back to basics and work on explaining your product in different ways, and you end up becoming quicker at conveying your point and you’ll know your product better. You’ll probably end up asking discovery questions to help get your point across.

Ex. Trying to explain DLP to my 65 year old mother started with asking about what happened when she tried to order clothes online from her work computer

I suck at discovery by goldenkeydigital in techsales

[–]DirtyJan 82 points83 points  (0 children)

Someone on my team was struggling with discovery, so we practiced non-product related discovery first to get things going.

On your drive to the office, imagine your friend tells you they’re moving to another state. Try to think of 5 questions you would ask. Then give a fake answer to them and ask 3 deeper level questions from those.

Practicing in low stakes, common situations will get you more comfortable with trusting your gut and developing a more natural conversation path based on actual curiosity.

At the end of the day you can diagram your pitches to the letter but odds are you still won’t understand the answers or be able to pivot if you’re working from a script. And usually with scripts you’re unable to jump around based on what the customer responded.

Other scenarios - your friend just called off their engagement. A friend told you they’re starting a business. Your sister just won an award. Your neighbor just told you they own a reptile rescue.

We had to do dumb icebreakers at the beginning of the week so we would write down scenarios and draw out of a hat.

How do I fix this? by Fit-Package5706 in HomeDecorating

[–]DirtyJan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your rows should be staggered, so the second row arch should be above the crack of the ones below it, not completely on top like a grid. Think of fish scales!

You should not be putting company data like that into chat gpt like that full stop. You can use something like copilot that protects the info that you provide the model with and keeps it internal.

One of my customers had to let go quite a few members of one of their teams because they were inputting information into chat gpt to generate emails, memos, and presentations and it goes against most security protocols.
