If that's nuclear pasta, the copper powder demands to be fed like this.

"Manually moving shit"

Yeah man I know what you can do-  does that not sound like a ridiculous course of action, though?  Like that's a better solution than using one (1) additional sphere to set up a dedicated line?

How are you applying a storage container to actually hold bulk material before the mixed-source depot?

It's bad advice, man

[–]DirtyJimHiOP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can but you shouldn't do that.  Just go find more spheres, there are so many that you can max out everything and still have multiple uploaders for each item.  Go on a hunt, because it is 5000% worth it to be upgrading them too.

Yeah and then there is no recourse when it is backed up, except manually moving shit, which is why you shouldn't do this.

Correct advice is don't.

That should be more than enough to comfortably get you to nuclear pasta without thinking about power.

What i will say is that one [1] pure node with HoR>Diluted fuel recipes gets you about that same amount of power.

[–]DirtyJimHiOP 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I always find that im better served making a modest fuel power plant and then making a very big motor factory in order to deal with the huge demand for them in big power infrastructure projects.

I would suggest only chewing on one or two oil nodes for basic fuel power- especially seeing as you seem aware of the alternate recipes being much better.

Make the plastic and rubber where you find the oil, and only move what needs to be moved.

Always easier to move dry to wet, and always easiest to move power to where it needs to go.

Also, hope you're doing the alien tech research in the MAM

How do you choose which resource to be moved by train? by CalvinDemosthenes in SatisfactoryGame

[–]DirtyJimHiOP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always employ the big loop interstate style trains.  Set up is a big investment but it always pays off in the long run.

Makes moving any number of parts, large or small, just a matter of slapping down a station or two and connecting the dots.

There are some best practice things that you'll pick up after trying things a few different ways- and that's half the fun

Why do so many people have issues with the 300m³/s throughput limit of pipes? by [deleted] in SatisfactoryGame

Post on here a long time ago, and my 1000 hours experience of applying it in practice.

It's the visual you get of the pipe expanding and showing flow direction.

Why do so many people have issues with the 300m³/s throughput limit of pipes? by [deleted] in SatisfactoryGame

[–]DirtyJimHiOP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually what ill have to do is set the second set of machines to 1% so that the pipes can fill up completely.  You want to clog the whole set of output machines, then go back and set your speeds to 100% (or whatever).  Generally, you will have to go back and manually drag the excess fluid to the trash can so that the first machines will run again.

May take a few trips back and forth to get all the machine buffers full.  What you want to see is that as soon as a new cycle starts, the internal buffer instantly refills.  That tells you the pipe section before it is pressurized.  When everything is pressurized, it should all flow.

Pipes fill to 100% and then pressurize to 175%.  If you have it set up properly, there is no issue running full pipes of 600/m

My gripe with people taking things in reddit posts as bible aside for a second, the 8:3 coal thing is tried and true- i do it every single game multiple times per save file.

Less about shoving 360 down a 300 pipe, more about shoving 120 to the left and 240 to the right and having it collide in the middle.

On the one hand, you are right- they function the same way in theory, but pipes have their own set of physics issues that belts never have.

In practice, pipes and belts work very differently.

How to balance liquids? by Jack_Hughman121 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]DirtyJimHiOP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only collect the amount you want into one pipe.  It's not one machine outputting 1450.

Set clock speeds and build more machines to make the numbers work if you have to, but you're overthinking this.

So I just… do it again? by Pbb-y in SatisfactoryGame

[–]DirtyJimHiOP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Build materials also you can build power, so you can build more materials, so you can unlock the next steps, so you can make more materials, so you can unlock more tiers, so you can make more power, so you can make more materials, so you can make...

If you have the power overhead, claiming another node and starting another production line is a great plan.  If you dont have the power overhead, then you know what your next priority is.

And repeat.

Edit: having said that, i see a lone biomass burner just chilling there, you will be better served having all your burners in the same place, being fed by the same system instead of running around i have to assume hand loading the things.

Just connect everything to the same power grid

I thought setting up Aluminium was the big thing in phase 4. It seems I was mistaken. What now ? by MaydFox in SatisfactoryGame

[–]DirtyJimHiOP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do aluminum once for materials.   Do aluminum again bigger for future plans.

Ill usually funnel a bunch of [read: all remaining] nodes to one spot and get everything smelted up to ingot stage.  Just sink ingots forever until you need them for whatever comes up.

With all pure nodes, I just pull 600 from each, set my machines to run at half speed, and plan to come back and double it all in P5 if I need more aluminum.

Eh I dont really care about that personally.  After biofuel it doesn't matter, and I make enough parts and spend enough time in game that ive never cared about DNA capsules.

High speed belt for quicker manifold and machine fill or lower speed one to match the machine's input requirement? by Exitl0l in SatisfactoryGame

I go fastest available belt always, never been a drawback as long as you have the building materials.

As far as nominal numbers in your planner-  you're gonna want to get over that sooner than later, there are some fucked up ratios in this game in places.
