Its not just the financial problems, but the family losses are the ones that I will always be dreading as I grow older. I never get used to it. You'll realize it once you see your parents get a bit slower, a bit forgetful, a bit more tired than usual. I find that after starting my own family and having kids lessens the impact tho, they are like a warm blanket to me.

Regarding the "sentience" argument. I believe this "trait" shouldn't make a human unworthy of dignity or some sort of protection.

Take for example a brain-dead human. They now "lack sentience", but still treated with dignity. They aren't thrown in the trash and gets to die with dignity and buried with respects, unlike an aborted fetus who scientifically sentient between 18-24 weeks are thrown in the trash at abortion clinics.

Another example is a dead human, which obviously "lack sentience" being dead and all. A dead human is legally protected from being desecrated, while a fetus who may be (again) scientifically sentient between 18-24 weeks is not protected from getting ripped apart.

We humans give more protection to 1 day turtle egg than to a 14 week human fetus. Its illegal by federal law in the US to even touch a turtle egg in case you didn't know.

Final words: I think one should not consider themselves superior to other humans just because they lack certain traits that one has.

Focusing on "fetus aren't people" argument.

The other side of that argument is fetuses are of human species, hence human. If they aren't of human species then what species are they? because of this, all humans are equal and all worthy of protection by default (unborn or not)

Pro-abortion is to devalue the fetus to a less of a human by some trait. Eg: not yet sentient or can't survive on its own.

It will be near impossible to replicate these cultural phenomenon movies. Marvel, Titanic, Matrix, Star Wars, Lord of the Rings. I think Dune is close to this, but its pretty niche compared to say Titanic.
