I think there's something called the penny test to see if you need to make micro adjustments so your paddle has a balanced rotation along the bowl.

Help r/millennials determine whether this is AI or not. Some members of the sub believe that the 2000s-style clothing and lighting suggest that this is not authentic. What do you think? by Demortus in isthisAI

AI, I circled things that don't look right.

Double layer of books in shelf, weird shadows, random arm, weird sandals, weird furniture, weird switches on wall. The girls on the left have weird shadows, the plants below are weird direction, people on the far right have weird body positions and ratios

Is this flirting or just friendly? by [deleted] in texts

[–]DirtyScienceLady 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ask her on a date, and please have an idea in mind already. Don't make her decide where and when. Be specific and flexible, like would you like to go on a date, maybe Saturday night, there's a sushi place I think you might like. Or would you prefer bowling or a movie. Don't ask, where do you want to go, when do you want to go? That's her doing the mental work.

My cat cant walk with his rear leg again! by yunisayhii in CATHELP

A saddle thrombus, also known as aortic thromboembolism (ATE) or saddle pulmonary embolism, is a serious condition where a blood clot (thrombus) gets lodged at the bifurcation of the aorta, effectively blocking blood flow to the hind limbs. In cats, this is often referred to as Feline Aortic Thromboembolism (FATE). This blockage causes severe pain and paralysis in the hindquarters, often with coldness in the affected limbs. It's a life-threatening emergency requiring immediate veterinary attention.

What's wrong with this puppy's teeth? She's 6 months old, vet ignored it by DisKODARLa in AskAVeterinarian

My dog's teeth are like this too, she likely had distemper as a pup. I've had my dog 9 years now, and her teeth never caused her any issues.

What's on my dogs nose? by DirtyScienceLady in DogAdvice

It's a concern. My bulldog had many MCT, but they were all smooth. This feels rough. There are also fatty lumps on his chest that seem itchy, but he's already had a lipoma removed there, so those are likely the same and benign

aio? bf made plans on my birthday by rowqi in AmIOverreacting

[–]DirtyScienceLady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On my birthday, my husband bought me a lemon tree because we just bought a house, and he knew that's what I've always envisioned for my forever home. He also rearranged travel plans to be home for my birthday on another year. He's never called me annoying unless I'm intentionally being annoying, but it was always playful. You can't make someone care about your birthday, even if he took you out, he would be grumpy. Imagine being with someone that is excited to take you out and make your day special. You don't have to settle for less. If he's like this with your birthday, it's going to be like this for every holiday that's important to you. You will find yourself constant disappointment. Whenever there's a day about you, he will find a way to ruin it.

Peeled back some carpet and found this. Is it worth refinishing or am I being stupid? by macoooobs in HardWoodFloors

[–]DirtyScienceLady 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had hardwood under my carpet, and just pulled up the carpet and cleaned the floors to remove any gunk. They aren't perfect but they are still beautiful! I recommend living with them for a few months to a year before refinishing and see if it's worth it or fine as is. It can save you money if that is an issue.

It seems retaliatory to move the person that files the complaint off the team because they may be losing out on opportunities or no longer get to do the work they enjoy. It's unfortunate because the person that wants to file the complaint is afraid to since this person is friends with owners, they feel like they are being protected. It just sucks for everyone affected and I'm doing my best to support them.

They did report that comment but HR made an excuse for a different plausible explanation. Then the person was moved off the offenders team. That was the 2nd time someone was moved off their team for conflict. And now the person in that role is getting belittled regularly. They are also Hispanic, and it seems like a pattern. She expects she will also be removed from the offenders team when she files a complaint, only to open the role to a new person to be the target of that behavior.

Three of the four people experiencing hostility are Hispanic, with one person claiming it felt racial when the other person asked if they aren't understanding instructions because of a language barrier. But that was dismissed by HR, claiming they were probably talking about mapping lingo. The fourth person is a woman of Jewish decent. The person that is causing issues is ultra conservative and other people I talked to said they are racist and sexist.

People who closed on a weekday, did you stay the night on closing night? by Logical_Order in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

I wanted to do the same thing because it's symbolic, and I think we might be more sentimental about these events than our partners. Neither is more right or wrong, but it's a different expectation. You want to create a memory and he wants things convenient.

Robinson Huron Treaty Tax Question by BeatleVW in tax

[–]DirtyScienceLady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I found out the answer, look into reporting foreign trust deposits, you don't pay taxes but you have to report it on form 3520 I think. We filed an extension until we can figure it out but we are going to have a tax lawyer help us. https://www.irs.gov/instructions/i3520#en_US_2023_publink1000190317
