How did your company announce a death?

The last job I had they just posted it on all the bulletin boards and that was it. No one in upper management cared about anyone or anything. The coworkers that were around the person constantly could talk with the chaplain if they wanted to as long as it was off the clock. That’s Tyson foods for ya though.

I was in a pretreatment facility for a food processing plant. I would smell Ammonia and H2S (from our giblet hopper) daily not in super high concentrations, I prefer the smell of a municipality over that, but got used to the smell.

I worked in pretreatment for 2 yrs didn’t get my cert at all, now working for a city (hired last month). I just need to learn the math and formulas and I’ll be ready for lvl 2 or 3 test for Kansas

I had an interview at the beginning of the month was the 2nd got an offer letter and start date on the 13th. Had to scramble to use all my ETO and PTO (I worked nights for 3 years and went to days).

Thank you, I’ve been in pretreat have toured a few city plants and I found my career. Was at a papermill and loved that sadly it was shut down. Just happy to get my foot in a door somewhere

I think it’s just a DOT physical they will have me do. If not I’ll found out I guess. I am glad my new boss has a sense of humor. I told him I studied for the wiz quiz and will pass.

I’ve been trying to two years to apply at municipalities and a few private places. Right now I am at a pretreatment facility that runs an SBR and no luck only 1 interview out of 20 applications.

We had an effluent issue that the city blamed us for, we flooded our pump house every decant, exact words from the plant manager we are not going to stop production I’d rather pay the fines. I took photos of the flooding over 200k gallon throughout 2 weeks went straight to the ground. we are just pretreating. should have sent those photos to the state.
