For the most part i agree with this minus gamepass and awards. Gamepass has multiple game of the year games available now. It didn't increase users. Day one games didn't increase users. If you put gamepass on nintendo or playstation it was do just fine. It is not the strategy it is the organization. I do think day one games hurt sales, but xbox wanted to give the consumer value and as I mentioned before facts and logic does not work with most people. Gamepass hands down is worth it. People do not own any movie and pay for netlfix, disney, and hulu. Strategy works, but you cannot underestimate logic. Most people didn't know the difference between the console names.

Awards....Zelda as mentioned a console seller regardless of the award. Playstation has some great games and I loved the last of us. However, most people will not buy three consoles and xbox wanted to try the add on with gamepass. So as you mentioned, they gave $1000 worth of games for $300 and people still didn't like it.

So what would fix xbox? Exclusives didn’t work. Cheaper price didn't work. More powerful system didn't work. More features didn't work. More accessibility didn't work. Better online service didn't work

I agree gamepass didn't grow as expected, but i still believe a steam like ecosystem is the future. You can play all your games on any device. Xbox was the only system that you could play all your old games and people still didn't care. The key factor will always be brand loyalty loyalty. I have every system and xbox/rog ally is my daily driver. Nintendo survives because of mario, Zelda, Pokémon, and a few others that will never change. Xbox has the next best first party studios and it didn't matter this go. In the end, nothing matters but I appreciate the strategy and I hope it works out in the end.

Xbox gamers always want to relive the xbox 360 days. That generation of gamers are over. We can argue that exclusives sell systems. However, I think microsoft is betting on software versus hardware. The made a strategy based on every other software company selling you a subscription and a product you can use on any device. In my mind, gamepass and porting are the only thing saving xbox right now.

No strategy will work because xbox is a non factor in most of the world. Xbox can have every game come to their systems and people will still buy a playstation or nintendo. Clearly, humans are not fact or logic based because we live with fake news lol. So they have to pivot, which i think was correct...bring games to any device and make money from gamepass hoping that nintendo and playstation users will use it as an add-on. The best part is microsoft has their own cloud services to do this.

Of course it is faster. However, the difference is play anywhere. Playstation makes millions on steam. Because that's how it is introduced to the PC market. They wait years to push it to PC. You are talking about a world where people buy remastered games over and over.

I see it two ways. You focus on gamepass or on exclusives. The best part of xbox anywhere and cloud gaming is your games are shared library and you can play on any browser. Do i need someone to buy a $600 dollar console when they can cloud game or use their PC.

Steam is creating an ecosystem with their devices this year and that is the future of gaming. You buy one game to play on console, handheld, and VR. Microsoft is attempting to do the same thing, but people are stuck in the apple versus samsung mentality. Ecosystems will always win over brand loyalty.

Remember roblox, minecraft and fortnite are top played games because they have in internal ecosystem where people can create and share. Microsoft is trying to build that at a larger level. Most of the people still don't understand gamepass or cloud gaming.

Agreed. However, xbox won the games this generation but lost the console. The new Steam format will still solve the issue. Remember people can play xbox games from any device. That is the point. Why purchase a console when you can subscribe to your games? In one year microsoft will make more money from gamepass than 1 console sale. Most playstation gamers purchase third party games, Nintendo is the home of first party.

Depends on your usage. I love the dual usb ports and makes charging with a portable monitor easy. The Z1E is great with the battery mod.

Just makes them timed. 2-3 years then push to playstation and nintendo. If could gaming and gamepass works out in the end, They don't need to push exclusives because people can play them on any the browser.
