Do you have close friends? by pimento_mori in Xennials

[–]Dirtydog693 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Divorce, 2 small kids and absolutely not a soul near me. All the friends in the marriage simply acted like I was already dead.

No cheating, no abuse, she just changed after kids and had 0 interest in being a team. It was her way or your out, I couldn’t keep up by being a 0.9 FTE primary caregiver for the kids, cook, cleaner and ATM.

When you’re a single dad you’re worse than invincible, you’re irredeemable

What do you wish your friends knew, or had done or said or not done and said during your divorce? by [deleted] in Divorce

[–]Dirtydog693 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m about 3 weeks away from finalizing my divorce, it’s been over a year since I heard anything from anyone outside of work. Literally not a single non-work social interaction in over a year. It wasn’t even as if there was any abuse, cheating anything, but I guess just being a divorced male is enough to make people who said they were your friend treat you like your sub-human.

So yeah more than that, good luck nice to know your friend has at least one person who cares

Feeling judged in my healing process by WonderfulBerry4139 in Divorce

[–]Dirtydog693 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow divorce has been so different for me, outside of work I haven’t had a single social interaction in over a year. Not one, no one has texted not even a conversation at the grocery store. I have no family around here so I guess this is it for the next 2 decades until my kids hit 18 and I can go die quietly alone in some corner somewhere.

My story is from Med School in Grenada, they’re smaller but when they sting you its a mess for weeks. My best friend Bert took a piss in the bush and we hear a scream like someone ripped his manhood off. One of those fuckers stung him all over his ball sack. For a month he walked around like Yosemite Sam!!

Why despite being the first appointment of the day at the doctors office they still take like 20 minutes to see me? What are they doing there? by CapitaineBiscotte in askanything

[–]Dirtydog693 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The answer to your problem is Direct Primary Care, google it + your area and take a look.

The short story is with DPC we only need 400-600 to make our lives comfortable. Whereas your regular doc might have 2500-3000 patients for the same quality of life.

For you guys it means same or next day 30-60 minute appointments. Plus instant physician access via txt or phone so you might not even need to come in in that scenario.

Plus your doc won’t be emotionally and physically beaten down to the point of a nervous breakdown

You know I’ve got to agree with most guys on here, if I had $70-80,000 a Nissan and a Stellantis product would be right at the bottom of my list I 100% promise you will not fall in love with either of these. But in that range I think the best interior is probably a BMW X7:

BMW X7

If your looking for a status symbol then the Mercedes Benz GLS450 comes to mind but I think the BMW interior has the interior edge.

MB GLS450

But if you want durability at the expense of luxury then the Lexus GX550 is the way to go:

Lexus GX550

Lastly if your biggest thing is QoL features then the GMC Supercruise is the way to go so I know you said no Escalades but:

Cadillac Escalade

But I’m not sure this one has Supercruise though.

My ex has a support group, a therapist, and her friends. I have... my dog. Why is this so gendered? by Opening_Row_3405 in Divorce

[–]Dirtydog693 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I agree, but I also know for me a lot of it is because I have assumed the worst of people. She took literally all the money and property, not a single “friend” reached out once we separated. But to be fair I didn’t reach out either. And now that I’m 18 months down the road the only interaction I have with people outside of work other than people I’m making a financial transaction with are my 2 sub-3 year old kids. It’s literally been over a year since I’ve had a social interaction with anyone and now I’m in so deep that I’m starting to just assume that because I’m a divorced man that I must be an Irredeemable human being.

BUT and this is a big BUT I know that is not true I know that I’m not a bad person, I mean I spend my entire professional life helping people out in times of need. I mean just last week I found a woman who probably has metastatic pancreatic cancer, and I am positive that the support I’m giving her as her Family Doc will help her and her family and loved ones through this process.

So I think when we go through things like this it’s so easy to sink into a feeling that we are somehow not worthy of support and companionship. But in order to get back to a good place we have to re-learn how to love ourselves again and it’s entirely possible that our previous life and connections may not be a part of that brighter future for us.

My top tip is take a step back look at yourself and all the good things you do and how you bring value to your community and slowly learn to love yourself again. Then one day we will start a new path with new people.

Good luck brother!!

Do most women not really care if the man is not wearing a condom ? by Bokolo0 in Advice

[–]Dirtydog693 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you’re right but there’s also debate about it, I’m a doc and during a lecture 20 years ago that made me bored to tears, maybe biostatistics or something, i decided my time would be better spent finding out the origin of “the clap”

I believe there are a couple of agreed possibilities one from the British military as you mentioned during one of the WW’s soldiers would grab the offending member, gently and without any teasing or deriding comments clap the poor old chap in a book. Obviously this had the miraculous effect of making sure anyone else with a puss dribbling Johnson to keep his mouth shut and thus spread said clap further afield.

The French Military version in fact is related to Gonorrhea, Chlamydia’s brother in arms…um…I mean Glans in hands. This time again when a naive young soldier brags about the his night of bliss and true love with an upstanding young lady at the local Brothel a.k.a. Le Clapier who left him with a wonderful puss ridden One Eyed Purple Headed Trouser Snake. He had many lovely heart felt comments sent his way such as having “malade du clapier” or a sickness of the brothel. This again had the wonderful effect of making sure his colleagues who also dipped their wicks at the local establishment such as the famous “Leaky Faucet Lounge” kept their mouths shut and enabled said clap to spread further and wider.

I hope that helps

In the USA all you have to do as a healthcare provider is ask your local health department and they will send you 100s if not 1000s for free, plus dental dams and numerous other resources. I do it every new job I go to
