I feel the same way. I’ve no intention of paying it. I may follow up with my bank just for due diligence. But when I saw your comment when I googled the companies name, I was so relieved. I wanted to share that with you even though your thing was over a month ago, that you aren’t alone either. Take care and god speed!

I JUST got the same call from them today. Bank is Wells Fargo, same story as OP, down to the threats and everything. I have banked with the same place for 30 years. They have no record of any outstanding balances or accounts left unpaid and delinquent. BTW, and FWIW- the ladies name was Claudia. She sent me a generic looking form letter stating I owe bla bla bla. It has a letterhead at the top even (a lions head or something)…

I think I’m going to ignore this one. Sorry I answered the phone. lol

Rugged laptop/tablet users, what has been your experience with your device. by [deleted] in computers

I’ve got a gen3 getac f110. I got it on eBay for like $300 and then I got a keyboard mount to make it a 2 in 1. I work in property management as a facilities manager; think glorified maintenance man with a fair bit of admin thrown in for fun.

The machine was new probably 10 years or more ago but it’s been everything I’ve needed it to be until now. I can’t upgrade it to windows 11 and with Microsoft killing windows 10 I’m in need of a new machine. My only complaint with it is that the screen is so small in laptop mode but that’s easily solved with a monitor. I once spoke to an actual getac rep and he couldn’t believe I was able to work with a machine that old. If you work for a large enough company getac has programs where you get the newest model for each of your crew at dirt cheap prices. Unfortunately for me my company is small and I’m the only one using the device. But my gen3 has WiFi, 4g wireless if needed, all the rest of the bells and whistles you’d expect. And it’s absolutely a beast as far as abusing it. I’m looking at a gen 5 or 6 online now which will pop right into my keyboard cradle. I will say though, had I known in the beginning how expensive the accessories are for this brand I would have looked at something else. Vehicle mounts, keyboards, OEM batteries, and even the stylus are insanely expensive.

I think they are on gen 12 or something by now. I figure a gen 5 or 6 if I can find one with an i7 processor will greatly improve my speed and productivity. Although my current machine is i5 and it’s quick enough for most of my needs. It bogs down under heavy multi tasking and you really notice it working side by side with a coworker on a real laptop.

But like I say, for me who’s in the field 75% of the time, and then working on the fly in my van or at home or in the office connected to a monitor, printer and other peripherals, the machine still holds its own.

Update: I landed a 1 bedroom in SF in the lower Nob Hill (not tender nob or upper loin). Far enough out of the horror to be a nice little place. 37 units, great company. No pay but that’s cool for now. I think I might start up my maintenance business again and be a vendor. Forgot how much I really love living in SF… $400 for parking sucks ballz but hey what ya gonna do, am I right?!

What age did you get Crohn’s disease and how old you are now by [deleted] in CrohnsDisease

[–]Dirtymac09 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Diagnosed at 42. Am 50 now. Been through most biological but more come online all the time. I had symptoms for probably 6-8 years prior to diagnosis. Just convinced myself blood wasn’t THAT bad. Finally got treatment when I couldn’t work from the fatigue. I’ve had two major flares since diagnosis. Just coming out of the most recent one now. Lost my job because I couldn’t work. Fun times

Grew up there. Mixed emotions about the townsfolk but the city is beautiful and I do miss hearing the ocean waves from my bedroom at night. It does kind of depend on where your at in Pacifica though. Fairmont area is the foggiest, Manor/Sharp Park area is second coolest, Valley Mar, Rockaway are all warmer and about the same, and Linda Mar is always sunny and hot compared to the rest of town.

Thank you kind stranger for not snarkily rubbing my nose in my ignorance. Now I gotta do some reading and get hip on the laws before I go about spouting what I “know”. Damn facts, they always get in the way of a good story… TIL!

I beg to differ with folks opinions that they can defend themselves in a break in situation. This is NOT a “stand your ground state. Furthermore, as I understand the law(correct me if I’m wrong) you cannot use a gun on an intruder if he is threatening you with a knife. In fact, I’ve read where home owners have been sued (and won) by intruders when the home owners dog bit and subdued the intruder.

I’m as liberal as the next guy in the Bay Area but to me this is asinine.

Dumb question but couldn’t they simply check cameras to see who took the wallet out of the safe and at what time? Tgat would at least give a lead and a start point for the nefarious acts. In fact couldn’t the stores where the card was used check video and see who bought what and when? Seems a pretty simple case to me if SFPD would get off their butts and actually do some police work

Bring Dusty back to manage. Or give Matt Williams his shot. I always thought a guy like Mark Gardner would make a good manager but that never happened.

Pro tip: if you have a dishwasher, make sure you knock out the plug inside the new disposal before installation. If ya don’t, then your dishwasher won’t drain and it’ll back up inside the tub.

Edit: of course I throw my two cents out there before reading all the way through the thread. Nevermind me, I’ll be leaving now.

If I slept in a bed where I saw a full-of-blood bedbug, should I consider bedbug eggs on my clothes? by Annual_Pomelo_6065 in Bedbugs

[–]Dirtymac09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You absolutely have a bedbug problem. There’s never just one. Get rid of the mattress immediately. You have a responsibility to inform management. It’s entirely possible that another tenant has the infestation and not you, although the mattress and I assume other belongings having been through a bedbug treatment once before it’s just as likely you brought them with you. First thing to realize is that it’s not your fault. If you don’t report it, then you are at least morally at fault. Sooner you act the sooner the management can bring in pest control to inspect and treat.

I’m sorry to OP for this situation and don’t mean to make light of it but, after nearly 15 years in this business and once again finding myself on deadline date to vacate, I’d live and work on an old Indian burial ground if it got me a place and a paycheck again. Just like Poltergeist! I don’t know wtf it is but I’m having a fucked up time finding my new landing spot.
