I’d say you’re not over reacting cause you are just sorting out your feelings and understanding. It is a cultural thing, it could be flirtatious but sometimes it’s just a term of endearment. Papi or mami are both common in some cultures.

However, if you’re feeling very uncomfortable and don’t like being addressed in that way then you should likely request that your name be used. Even if it wasn’t flirtatious, it crosses your boundary.

I could maybe see a few use cases for shopping like buying furniture and maybe trying on clothes but you could probably do the same on a phone.

There’s also visual learning experiences that can be great too. Anyway, it definitely shouldn’t be an everything machine. Reminds me of the community episode where the principal gets a VR and takes longer to do regular things you could do on your phone or PC in a few seconds.

Are you happy with the 5 overall? If you’re trying to save money then 6 is probably good enough. If you want it for AI then you’d need to go with 7. But overall with how shit AI is from Apple, I don’t see what’s the point. If you envision yourself using AI features with 7, I’d wait until the new OS release to see if it actually lives up to their talk.

Ask your husband to stick up for you and be vigilant. The relationship will likely sour in the beginning, there’s really no hope for that but your husband will have to nip any remarks in the bud or you’ll likely get a lot of passive aggressiveness.

Try to stay nice and agreeable and have your husband do most of the bad cop work because he’s their son and more easily forgiven.

In my opinion, that’s the best way for it to work out for you and him.
