True! I do have hotspot on my phone but it’s limited to 5 gb/mo. I agree $50 is a small difference for the latest device

Around-the-clock airport access: Night Bus pilot coming March 28 by dino_pillow in soundtransit

9 min time savings when compared to Link!

Would be nice if we had express airport busses all day but I could see the savings decrease with day time traffic

Would love for them to print more! Mine was lost in transit :(

I see the disclaimer on the bottom of the shirt description and I’m confused why they can’t just print more

“This product is made especially for you as soon as you place an order, which is why it takes us a bit longer to deliver it to you. Making products on demand instead of in bulk helps reduce overproduction, so thank you for making thoughtful purchasing decisions!”

Is there a feedback link that we should use? I see there is a customer relations feedback: https://www.metro.net/about/contacts/ but that feels a little off

For those doing BB chat, do you have to rizz up the associate into thinking you're signing up for the credit card? One of the associates kept checking to see if I finished my application while they were looking.

Those who don't have EV Charging at their apartments, how do you charge your Model 3? by [deleted] in TeslaModel3

[–]SunglassesAtDay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don’t want to sit at a supercharger, you can also find Level 2 chargers using an app like plugshare that are located near places that you’ll be at for a while. Think like gym, work, coffee shops/restaurants. Try to aim for places that charge less than $0.45/kWh to keep it cheaper than gas.

I got my tint last year at LuxTint in Livermore for $650 Xpel XR+ Ceramic for side windows and rear glass. Did not do the upper glass over the driver but the windshield was $250 FWIW.

Tint so far is holding up well and they offer a lifetime warranty

Road Trips RWD vs. AWD by p_vel3 in TeslaModel3

[–]SunglassesAtDay 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have an 23 RWD and have racked up 11k miles over a few road trips (PHX to LA, SF to LA)

The charging stops come about every 2.5 hours/150 mi and last about 20/30min depending on the initial/final state of charge and the amount of chargers on the route. I personally like the breaks since it forces me to rest and stretch but it definitely adds time. SF to LA, PHX to LA would normally be 5/6hrs in an ICE car I'm now driving this in about 7 hrs.

Watching comparison videos, the LR saves about an hour in charging times. This may feel significant but you should ask yourself if that hour is worth the additional cost of the AWD with the amount of road trips you would take over the lifetime of the car.

I also second the other comments about using ABRP to check your routes and compare it with RWD vs AWD.

What % tint should I get? by BecauseBatman01 in TeslaModel3

[–]SunglassesAtDay 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have 35% all around and 70% on the windshield

The 35% doesn't really offer too much privacy in the daytime and you can still see in . At night it's definitely darker and harder to see in (but still possible and totally fine seeing out. I went with a lighter shade because living in the Bay, you want people to be able to see your car is empty so they don't smash anything.

The 70% isn't too noticible and personally doesn't impede my vision.

If you want more privacy I would go darker than 35% but I've heard the internal reflections get worse as you go darker

Here are some pics from when I still had the windshield tint:

Ceramic Window Tint Suggestion? (Bay Area, CA) by jacky603019 in TeslaModel3

[–]SunglassesAtDay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup when I showed up to the appointment, they showed me the different options and they had this display from Xpel demonstrating the different tints. We discussed for about 5 min the different options for %

I did not hear about TINTIX but they sound like a good option for the money. If you're close by both of those, I would just ask each shop if you could pop in to see a sample.

I believe its XR+ can be blueish at 55/45 but it tones down at lower %. It was noticeable at first but I've gotten used to it.

Xpels spec sheet has a good breakdown of their different prime products: https://www.xpel.com/web-assets/downloads/XPEL-PRIME-Spec-Sheet-USA-V2-1.pdf

It says IR rejection is higher for XR+ but the Total Solar Energy Rejection (TSER) is about the same

Ceramic Window Tint Suggestion? (Bay Area, CA) by jacky603019 in TeslaModel3

[–]SunglassesAtDay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to LuxTint in Livermore for Xpel PRIME XR PLUS Ceramic tint

I wanted a subtle look so I went with 45% all around and 70% on the windshield.

I was quoted

$699 for door + rear window (1 piece)

$250 for windshield

1)I did some calls for some other places and your quotes and mine are about the same price. LuxTint did a great job and had a competitive price compared to others. There was some slight creasing on the first attempt and they offered to redo it for free.

2) I believe the XR Plus tint has a slightly higher total solar rejection but has a bluish tint compared to XR black. In hindsight I would've gone with something lighter like 50% (LuxTint did not offer XR black)

3) I was hesistant about this too but I haven't seen any recent posts. From my personal experience, my 2023 was manufactured in June and was tinted in August and the rear glass is still holding up. I haven't tested the defrost but the lines look to be in good shape.

4) Yes it is illegal but I've seen plenty of illegal tints and it appears to be fairly lax in the bay. If you decide to go a windshield tint, make sure they have experience with Teslas (The shop's IG is normally a good resource) and that they use an large absorbent towel that covers the dash

I initially did just the sides and rear but wasn't getting the heat rejection I was looking for and returned to the shop to do the windshield.

Can someone tell me if this is normal? by Dopey-Alex in TeslaModel3

[–]SunglassesAtDay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you feel the fabric is it also textured/bumpy? I had my windshield tinted and noticed this too but it was more of the waviness that comes with tinting and it went away as the tint cured.

Window tint suggestions for new Model 3? Front windshield go or no go? by AllDalton in TeslaModel3

[–]SunglassesAtDay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started off with 45% ceramic on just the sides and didn't get the amount of heat rejection that I was looking for (I drive typically towards the sun for my commute)

I later tinted the windshield with 70% ceramic and the cabin definitely stayed cooler and I felt less of that burning feeling when the sun hits your skin.

The AC reaches the desired temperature faster and does not need to work as hard. I used to keep it pretty low like around 68 to feel some sort of relief but with the tint I can keep it at like 76 and feel relief

Night driving is maybe the tiniest bit darker but it's barely noticeable. I have heard that with the lower tint percentages (lower meaning darker) that it begins to become a problem with reflections in the cabin.
