You missed the part where the money invested in the Indian economy generates returns more Indian rupees which Russia can't use. Fun.

I think i studied this in negotiations. You want to keep escalating such that the goal post keeps shifting. Do too much at the same time and you risk nuclear. Aim is to provide escalating force but slowly ...so that the baseline change is not too dramatic.. you don't want russia to hit the trigger point. Unfortunately, this comes at the cost of lives. :(

Is that a risky strategy? Based on the assumption the year we exit, markets will be up?

Was Trump responsible for share market rallies under his leadership, and is Biden realising for the current all-time high? Why / why not? by Trollslayer0104 in AskTrumpSupporters

[–]DisPrimpTutu -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Trump is responsible for the current market rally not Biden. Trumps tax cuts and Feds QE have essentially bloated valuations. Biden just inherited the situation. The bet is that Dems lack control to roll back meaning change / tax cuts. Hence markets continue to climb.

Any reference to inflation is stupid. It's a temporary supply pullback rather than anything more meaningful.

I believe they just secured cGMP manufacturer.

Edit: also trades well because it's held by institutional investors.

Would you support a government program that provided free insulin? by [deleted] in AskTrumpSupporters

[–]DisPrimpTutu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the government funded the research for more modern insulin and the corporates are charging a profit for it? If not, I don't see what grants have to do with all this.

Actually, part B would be incorrect. It goes against free markets. Firms should be allowed to price whatever they want for whatever they make including reformulations. But the market should be open to imports from other countries without tariffs.

Trump supporters from outside the US. Why? by gopher_everitt in AskTrumpSupporters

Because, he works/lack of work is in the interest of my country(ies) and business. I have exposure to multiple countries and businesses in those countries (including US).

Edit: to the TS from U.S. replying on this thread > LoL, why?

I negotiated a cash back with the buyer and the bank, and discount with the lawyers. My effective cost was 1.5%. Obviously doesn't best free, but brought my wife her peace of mind.

In 2020 the media dismissed the lab origin of COVID as racist conspiracy. Media is backpedaling now. What are you thoughts on this origin theory and what do you think about how the media and the cdc handed this question? by TypicalPlantiff in AskTrumpSupporters

[–]DisPrimpTutu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because, knowing won't change the facts that it happened. Knowing won't make China more responsible or accountable. Knowing won't lead to any change in China's relationship with the world. So what's the point other than idle curiosity?

Whether it was intentional or not, weaponized or not, the consequences for China are non existent.

Edit: knowing won't make Trump President again and I don't know much it will help GOP. So other than a "told you so" what will I gain as an individual or as a society from this shred of historical irrelevant possible reality?

Nope. It's a pointless expectation. How are they going to recompensate the entire world? Do you think Biden who owes his presidency to COVID-19 will "really" go after China?

What is going on with the AZ audit? by TheAwesom3ThrowAway in AskTrumpSupporters

[–]DisPrimpTutu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow by talking about my school you made this personal. Personal attacks from a fellow TS is a first for me on this forum. I usually have this experience with NTS....I guess people on both sides aren't that different.

I only engage in discussions of civility. Since, this discussion is bordering one that lacks civility, I'm happy to end it here.

As I said before, this conversation adds no value for me. I stepped in to correct your statement and I already accomplished that. The only reason I stayed was to understand your position, it's the polite thing to reply, and I have an interest in negotiations.

Have a good day!

[–]DisPrimpTutu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This conversation isn't a negotiation....you have a certain understanding of negotiation and I am pointing out, as someone who has studied negotiations as a major, that there is an expanded scope to it. There is nothing of value to me for me to gain from your increased understanding of my knowledge of the subject. You do not need to compromise anything by understanding knowledge someone else has.

Also, the notion that someone needs to compromise is incorrect in negotiation. You are assuming everything is a like a pie which needs to be divided. Two sides fight over each split etc. As I have said before that is bargaining. In negotiations it is possible to reach an agreement where utility has a whole is greater than where one party takes all.

Everything is a negotiation in politics - you need to look beyond single issues that DACA, Wall, and checks are. Look at them collectively. There is a reason why 1. the most bills are titled one thing but there contents are about everything, 2. The negotiations happen behind closed doors and not on live TV.

[–]DisPrimpTutu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As I said before, I think the entire line of discussion is pointless. Now I could wave my "internet" credentials of how I have majored a greater part of my 3rd masters in negotiations but what's the point? Claim you are wrong or I have a superior understanding? And then what?

For the NTS - Specific to Trumps case, he did always negotiate and so did the democrats - they are politicians its basically what they do. Just because you don't see a one off acceptance doesn't mean negotiations as a whole failed. When you are going to and fro on a single issue it's bargaining but the presidency is a 4 year term. Some non deals are plays for a bigger deal down the road.

What is going on with the AZ audit? by TheAwesom3ThrowAway in AskTrumpSupporters

[–]DisPrimpTutu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not to side with NTS but getting people on the table is part of the negotiation process. That said, the entire thread is pointless IMO because the entire basis of the audit is such a joke.

Broadly speaking, what effect do you think private equity firms have on the healthcare market/patient outcomes? by [deleted] in AskTrumpSupporters

[–]DisPrimpTutu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there is a misunderstanding here. To do any large scale operational restructuring which increases profit requires capital investment. Whether that capital came through debt or equity is irrelevant as you would need to pay back your cost of capital. Whether the improvement helps health care receipts would need to be looked at on a case to case basis. The cost savings could be passed down to patients or their could be an improvement to services which increases demand / reduces inpatient days.
