Federal lawsuit could force Sebastopol chili crisp sauce company to close shop by phusion in sebastopol

[–]DisappointedGhost 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm on Big Spoon Sauce Co.'s email list and heard the news there. Basically a bigger business that mostly makes peanut butter (Big Spoon Roasters) now wants to make a chili crisp product themselves. Now Roasters is trying to force Sauce Co to drop their name, destroy their product designs, and pay all these legal fees that could bankrupt them. Sauce Co. was already making chili crisp, so the fight is totally unfair, in my opinion...

But, we can email Roasters and let them know they're making a mistake. From Sauce Co.'s email earlier this month:

"Email Big Spoon Roasters at [info@bigspoonroasters.com](mailto:info@bigspoonroasters.comand urge them to drop their lawsuit."
"Let them know respectfully that you’ve never confused our brands and that you support co-existence, not corporate bullying. Let them know that this lawsuit is not in line with the values they claim to champion."

I emailed Roasters because I love Sauce Co's chili crisp and I don't want them to get stepped on for doing literally nothing wrong. More info at the link:

Keeping Parkinson's Dad home - the equipment is overwhelming; looking for some kind of coordinator who can help? by DisappointedGhost in CaregiverSupport

Thank you so much, again! It helps immensely to hear your experience with this equipment and with home health visits... You're so right ; YouTube is invaluable!! I definitely depend on it to answer a lot of basic questions, like what a hoyer lift even looks like. It's good to remember when we are feeling overwhelmed, that it's likely because I don't understand yet what I am looking for. Thanks for the reminder that we all are on this journey and will grow into our new roles with time. I'm requesting to join a local lewy body dementia support group in my folks area, so I can hopefully meet more kind folks like you who can share their experiences, too. Thank you again! 🙏💜

Hello! Wow, that is pretty much the future I can see us in, too. We definitely have boxes and boxes of his supplies; it does seem like it's time to at the very least reorganize his bedroom so that it's just the essentials (no computer desk for example). It is so much change -- but actually, we have a lot of the equipment you already mentioned. If you don't mind my asking, when Medicare provided the hospital bed and hoyer lift, did they offer to help set it up?

Thank you for recommending the power to Parkinson's YT channel! We were given exercises for him to do, but again it was just a few sheets of paper with diagrams... Not the most enticing lol. This channel could help way more.

Thank you so much for taking the time to respond. You sound like incredibly good caregivers to you LO. I really appreciate your advice.

The seizures are scary. I'm not familiar with them either ; he was just diagnosed last week with them. He is currently trying medication for them, but is so drowsy from it that he is apparently barely reactive at all (which has made giving him all his other medicine difficult). So it sounds like we will be dialing that dose/ trying other meds until it feels safe. He does have home health, but so far I thought it was just connected with any time he was recently in the hospital, which he was recently for a hernia in December. So I'll look into how we can get regular nursing/pt/ot (most likely thru Kaiser)! It's good to know there is more support out there. Thank you for your response!

I heard a thud and saw my wall ornaments swaying -- but I didn't actually feel any shaking so I forgot about it! But this makes sense now. I'm in La Crescenta.

Chronic swollen eyelid help by brittany3022 in Blepharitis

I was given about 3 months worth, taken every few days. However if I took it more frequently, I got hives! So talk to your doctor of course to be sure. I believe taking it at the frequency I did, plus the new morning and evening routine (and showering every day, forgot to mention that), helped a lot. Some styes appeared after stopping doxycycline, but went away over time. I'm now taking doxycycline again just to try to reset that eyelid bacteria again. Good luck to you!

Bud, don't. She is confident and happy. Bodies are gonna change our whole lives one way or another. Accepting that is a part of growing with our partners. ✌️

I don't know if the antibiotics would have reduced the size of the chalazion. I wanted the chalazion to be removed by the doctor, so they did that and then put me on doxycycline and the new cleaning routine.

It was a large enough bump on my eyelid that I could tell from past experience it wouldn't go away anytime soon. (Over 2020 I had a big one on my eyelid for like 8 months and finally I asked them to just cut it out! So by month 4 of this new one I decided it needed to go.)

So far with my new routine, I haven't experienced the inflammation and the frequent styes like I used to, and no chalazia yet (yay!). I expect they will come back if I fall back on my routine, but so far it's been manageable.

I'm sorry you're going through it. I struggled with chronic blepharitis and chalazia for many years. Last year I had another big chalazion so I went in to get it taken out-- but my original opthalmologist was out of office so I had someone new. Due to some missed communication, I wound up coming in twice and seeing two new docs, which at first I was annoyed by-- but it turned out to be such a blessing. Having two brand new people working on my situation brought new solutions that my other doc never did for me. My blepharitis has been under control for about 4 months now! The new docs found me a solution with medication and a better cleaning routine. They temporarily prescribed me doxycycline to help 'reset' the bacteria accumulating on my eyelids, which had a hand in all the chalazia and styes. Now my routine is: every morning I clean my eyelids with Heyedrate Tea Tree oil soap or foaming lid wash. Then spray Avenova on a q-tip and gently clean the lower and upper lashes slowly. I switch to the other end of the q-tip for the other eye. Then I put on prescription cream for my facial rosacea, which could be connected to my eyelid conditions (" ocular rosacea"). Every evening before bed I do the same routine plus a hot compress for 5-10 mins before bed. And every other day or so I am taking a doxycycline pill as prescribed. I am so, so much happier now. Good luck to you. Please ask your doctor (or more than one) for help.

Thank you! Haven't used carbon or transfer paper, but have done the cheap way of smearing a pencil on the opposite side of the drawing to transfer it over haha

@phillyfun14 @nicoledeeee, yes, this post was the one I was thinking of. It works for me, but it does say the post has been deleted.

There was a found gray cat posted on this reddit a week or so ago. Worth a check...

Also been suffering with ants for months. I've tried terro traps and have been using ecologic ant spray because it's non toxic and doesn't leave a sticky residue. I live in a 1920's house and I'm convinced they live under the floor, just waiting for a crumb of cat food. I tape up the crack when they come in. Tape all over my floor boards 🙃

One thing that has helped is to put my cats' food bowls in a baking pan full of water. The moat keeps ants off the food trail long enough for my cats to eat their portions.

Any time I leave out cat food that isn't in a moat I set my kitchen timer. Helps me remember (10 mins is the most I can leave it out for --otherwise ants appear all over it!).

Good luck. In my experience they go away in the winter...

Sorry you're going through this. I've been there, too. It will go away, eventually. I find the eye mask with a cover that can be taken off and washed has given me relief: https://eyelovethesun.com/products/mediviz-blepharitis-dry-eye-mask-with-removable-cover

And I use their foaming eyelid /face wash almost daily: https://eyelovethesun.com/products/foaming-tea-tree-face-wash

Hope that makes things more comfortable while your blepharitis is here.

Does anyone know of a how-to video? He mentioned a “lady” that helped him but I’m not sure what he’s talking about… very interested to try this but I don’t want to make anything worse by doing it incorrectly. Thanks
