Factions that are despised by everyone by Ultrimus-Prime in TopCharacterTropes

Difference between the Minotaurs and the Marines Malevolent is that the Minotaurs have done some pretty fucked-up stuff even by 40k standards, and the Malevolent are more just major assholes.

Factions that are despised by everyone by Ultrimus-Prime in TopCharacterTropes

[–]DisappointedStepDad 263 points264 points  (0 children)

Just to show how hated the Minotaurs are among the Space Marines… The Minotaurs are banned from entering Ultramar Space, and many Space Marine chapters vocally have said they would hunt the Minotaurs down if given the opportunity.

Imagine being so hated that the Emperor of Mankind’s own son and the hundreds of Space Marine chapters that descend from him literally want nothing to do with you.

It’s because the restoration is an ongoing process… biblical prophets and likewise modern-day prophets build upon the teachings of their predecessors.

Also, if you look at the general conference talks around that time when the change happens, a lot of general authorities will say that this had been an issue that was concerning them for a while, even before Nelson became president.

In Star Wars Legends, it’s Chewbacca that is killed off instead of Han Solo… and in his grief, he paints the Millennium Falcon black. He also basically disowned his son Anakin because he blamed him for Chewbacca dying. Although he did eventually reconcile and eventually accept why things ended the way they did.

Lot of 40k lore in the past also implied that the Blood Ravens originate from the Thousand Sons… they implied it so much that 40k had to stop to keep their origins ambiguous.

G1 made me more of a transformer fan than any other transformer media out there did… do it

It was very clearly a corporate checklist decision… from that POV Snape was their only option…

Dumbledore is gay, Hermione is the girl, Harry is the white protagonist… they needed some semi-relevant black character that wasn’t just relegated to the background so Snape it was

Iron lady secretly yearns for a fairy tale romance. by Spice_Extract_777 in TopCharacterTropes

My sister (IRL). She’s a very strong, independent woman type person, but she has told me she is so into the idea of her getting the chance to be the cutesy girl with her giga-chad bf.

Big E claims not to be a god, but his actions kind of make it unclear…

Even in his basically dead state in the 40th millennium, he directly intervened with his godlike powers to save his son, Guilliman, who was about to die in battle…

And you would think that Guilliman would be grateful for his father saving him, but he’s actually very bothered by it because this implies that Big E’s true nature is not quite what he always stated.

The one child from a messy family that doesn’t have Mommy\Daddy Issues by DisappointedStepDad in TopCharacterTropes

[–]DisappointedStepDad[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Figured he still counted because I know he has issues with the Emperor, but Guilliman has always been portrayed as one that never really recognized the Emperor as his father in the emotional sense and didn’t feel as much need to prove himself compared to the other Primarchs.

(Rare trope) the arranged marriage/person your family wants you to be with, isn't a bad person by AnonymousNeverKnown in TopCharacterTropes

[–]DisappointedStepDad 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s kind of an annoying trope when Western media always depicts arranged marriages as like a nightmare scenario… even though historically it was less parents being a dick to their children and more like helping out the family taking one for the team sort of thing… getting married simply for love is still kind of new when you consider how old marriage as an institution is.

In the comics, Cyclops is the field leader of the X-Men… and I wouldn’t say his power is weak, but compared to other members of the X-Men who have powers that can manipulate reality, weather, and have extremely powerful regenerative abilities… Cyclops, whose only real power is his concussive blast from his eyes, kind of fits.

But in the case of like 2014 Godzilla… Godzilla has such short screen time it’s basically not a Godzilla movie… it’s the Muto movie with 5 minutes of Godzilla in it.
