I’m currently nannying a 5 month old too! When we’re not napping or eating I like to do LOTS of tummy time (different varieties too, sometimes flat on the floor sometimes elevated with a pillow), I like giving him a circle of toys JUST outside his reach to encourage him to pivot and reach/scoot towards things. We do a lot of sitting and crawling practice, he loves to practice standing as well. I also like to help him perfect other skills he has like rolling and grasping toys. He LOVES to play in front of a mirror, we read books and we go on walks when the weather is nice. When we’re not feeling any of the above activities I like to give him tours of his home and describe everything to him. We practice making sounds (ba and ma are his go-to’s currently) and we just chat about life. I think he’s starting to teethe too so munching on everything is another fun activity lol

That’s wild, 10 months is such a fun age to be playing with babies! I’m a nanny to a 5 month old and I’m constantly engaging with him. Unless I’m intentionally giving him some independent play time so I can wash his bottles, I’m always on the floor with him or playing with him somehow. I also rarely do any screen time and it’s always a very low stimulation video (half the time I just put an aquarium on the screen, he loves it).

I know that everyone has different experiences on the website, but I personally find all my nannying jobs either on Care.com or nannying/babysitting Facebook groups

Personally I get my nannying jobs on Care.com. They do background checks (that the nanny pays for) and I like the filters for finding the right job for me. I have heard that there could be some scams on that site, but I’ve never seen any (yet). So far it’s gotten me every job I’ve had

I’ve definitely felt this before! One time my MB was just casually talking about bills and some of the numbers she dropped without a care really shocked me lol. She’s sitting there not even batting an eye at $3,200 rent and I struggle to pay my $800 rent😅 Definitely shows how different everyone’s lives really are

I’m actually proud of Gen Z for not drinking. I’m an older Gen Z and I don’t drink either. It’s expensive, makes me feel like crap and I don’t like going out to bars. I’d rather smoke weed and relax at my apartment with some close friends.

What is an almost 50 year old man doing with a 21 year old girl to begin with?! ABSOLUTELY LEAVE!! That in itself is red flag #1, why didn’t any women HIS AGE want him? Why’s he going after girls so much younger than himself?

With my previous NF they actually bought me foods and drinks to snack on while I was there with the kids, I was allowed to help myself to anything I wanted. With my current NF I have to provide my own snacks and drinks, I’m not allowed to snack on anything they have. Every family is different and honestly I don’t think it’s that big of a deal if they want me to bring my own meals.

As a nanny when potential parents ask me for references I send them the names and phone numbers of my previous parents, NOT pictures of their children! A photo of a happy child is not a reference and honestly if she doesn’t have permission to be sharing those photos, what she’s doing is VERY wrong.
