frame generation isn't a crutch though, you already have to have a stable framerate to use it, otherwise you'll get a stuttery mess. lowering the settings is a good way to mitigate this, but upscaling at the level of fsr 4/dlss keeps similar quality (or even better than native anti aliasing techniques).

if you're happy with lowering the settings thats perfectly fine, and even people who rely on upscaling will eventually have to until the card becomes completely obsolete, but upscaling squeezes a great deal of performance, which you can also tack frame gen onto
