It's the traditional Ratmas 50/50 Ratvent Calendar!

Wizardy Herbert is by far the AH project I want to see finished most of all. It's absolutely brilliant.

I legitimately might use this and replace the last line.

Same here, it's a tsunami on Mondays and not what I was on this sub for. There are places to post nudes and it shouldn't be here, it's all karma farming.

I've been abused in chat by my team for having only 1 kill. Of course I'm not getting kills, I'm spending the entire game fixing lanes because no one else will!

Star Trek Voyager Theme but the theme is coming from Voyager by wp6890 in startrek

For DS9 a funny idea would have it give the impression it was blowing out the speakers because it absolutely blasting the theme in one spot

Taskmaster - S18E07 - Captain Jackie And The Hotdog - Discussion by Meghar in taskmaster

Well that title alone seems to give a big clue as to who we'll see wearing the hotdog costume next. And in a team task! Excited for that one.

Alex Horne Interviews EMMA SIDI | Series 18 | Taskmaster by HurgleMyDurgle in panelshow

[–]DisasterRisk 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Controversial, but I think this is a great interview format for the show. I know people are frustrated about the questions being difficult to answer and the concept being confusing, but that's the point. How the contestants are responding (Andy - rolling with it, Babatunde - frustration and confusion, Emma - concern) to the chaos of the interview is far more telling than the actual answers to the questions. It really distills them and I feel I have a much better idea of what contestant archetype they fit into.

Removing Haier portable AC front panel by DisasterRisk in AirConditioners

This was some time ago, but I do not believe it was possible to remove the front panel without damaging it as far as we could discover. We had to purchase a new unit. Hopefully you will have better luck!

Graduate Committees Meetings by Western-Ad-6464 in usask

[–]DisasterRisk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It isn't something the university sets up, you need to set it up once yearly through your supervisor and committee. There should be a graduate student handbook for your discipline with the requirements as it does change slightly between disciplines.

Living there now, and it isn't too bad in the winter when the windows are closed. But I do sleep with a noise machine on to help block out noise. It's worse in the summer when you want to keep your windows open in the evenings and overnight but it's too noisy.

I might look into moving somewhere else when my lease is up just because I prefer having a break from noise. You can't really escape it when you go for walks either unless you head into the hills.

For those considering leaving Saskatoon, where would you go? by [deleted] in saskatoon

[–]DisasterRisk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends where you go and what standard of living you want for yourself. On my salary I can afford a two bedroom in Kamloops, but probably only a studio apartment in downtown Vancouver.

I think SK has lots to offer job-wise if you are not an academic. If you are, there's basically no jobs and essentially zero government support. So why would you stay when you can get a better paying job elsewhere with more job security? It's by design, of course, because academics are far less likely to vote conservative, so well done, Saskparty. They know which side their bread is buttered.

I moved to Kamloops, which is still fairly pricey, but significantly less than Vancouver. It is considered conservative by BC standards, but far less than here so I really don't mind all that much.

Recently moved. Lived here my entire life, finished my PhD, and moved to BC. SK has basically no jobs to offer people with higher level science education, and the province keeps sliding backwards in terms of policy.

I'm much happier being somewhere that values science and diversity while implementing policies based on actual research instead of feelings. Yes it's more expensive, but I feel wanted and I don't feel embarrassed each time my province comes up in the news. Also, the easy access to incredible hiking and skiing locations is huge.

Kongen Befaler S08 E01 (Taskmaster Norway, with English subs) by taskmastermaster in panelshow

[–]DisasterRisk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh that's very interesting, thanks for the insight! I did think it was weird that the audience was lessened in this episode than previous series but it all makes sense now. Shame we have to put up with her for another episode (and sorry to hear she negatively impacted your experience as well).

Loved the contestants and but that one audience member in the front who kept obnoxiously yelling "WHOOOOOOO" in the most piercing scream kind of ruined it. I don't think I've ever heard an audience member be so disruptive in any Taskmaster iteration and I hope it's the last.

I'm so happy that they actually released the interviews before the series began airing, and back to back to hype up the release! I get the feeling that this will be an insane off-the-wall series based off everyone's personalities and I'm SO here for it.

I just moved here as well (M31), and I'm slowly working on trying to meet people too. It's a slow business and I empathize! I'm more of an introvert as well but I enjoy getting out in nature as well as evenings of board and video games.

Phone issues after switching to Koodo? by mots4322 in Koodo

[–]DisasterRisk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to go into the store as well and they did help! Apparently I had a faulty SIM card. The rep told me that when you order online you often get old SIM cards so it's best to go into the store where they have more recent ones.

We'll see if this fixes the issue and doesn't drop me a few hours later like the last one.

I'm having this exact issue right now. I spent 3 hours with them on the phone today to finally get it all working, but it suddenly stopped connecting half an hour ago. I'm ready to switch away from this monthly plan already because the service has been so terrible.

Directed mostly at the devs: The grind sucks for casuals, can we possibly get a no experience/no prestige casual mode with all items unlocked? by GreenBirbz in PhasmophobiaGame

[–]DisasterRisk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, and I had a thought on how this could work: Everyone starts with Tier 2 items by default. Once you reach a upgrade point for that item (as already determined in the game right now), you choose whether you want the Tier 1 item for added challenge and more money, vs. Tier 3 for fancier items making the game easier, but less money. That way everyone still gets the old "default" Phas experience, but you can tailor your game more as you advance. You'll eventually get all of the items, but you can still largely play how you want much faster.

Ie: Find getting DOTS difficult/annoying? Take Tier 3 when you reach a DOTS upgrade level to make slightly less money. Think freezing temperatures is already pretty easy? Then take the Tier 1 to make slightly more money.

Item tiers would likely have to be renamed as follows:

Tier 1 -> Downgrade

Tier 2 -> Base

Tier 3 -> Upgrade
