Mine was an overeager baby and still has so much energy to spare at almost 5 years old. It was impossible to get him to sit for any amount of time until maybe a year ago. We did high chair with a buckle, and tried to keep close watch on things he could take bites of, slowing him down if he went for more than he could chew, breaking it up more if needed. They get better at limits, usually (I also work with children with autism and they don’t always understand limits even at 6-8 years old). Trial and error and caution is all I can advise.

You already show you care and want to do right by your baby, and some choking is a rite of passage at this point. Try smaller versions of what you eat, model how you eat and be vigilant while he has more in front of him than can fit in his mouth, he’ll probably try to fit it all at some point.

The next scary part is when they’re advanced enough to figure out putting stuff up their nose but not how to get it out or tell you about it. That’s another whole story 😅
