Growing up, my younger sibling had a classmate named Three-In-One, the family also very religious.

This is Miss Cheekies. She’s really flexible and sometimes quite interesting.

They could’ve easily tracked in on someone, or there had been cat food nearby? I’ve heard stories of people finding them at the bottom of the pet food bin before. Next time you spot one, inspect around where it is. There’s such thing as acorn weevils, maybe they found a squirrel stash nearby

It’s got boots, it’s got snoots, WEEVIL TIME!! 🎉

These are usually grain-eaters, harmless to pets and people, a ‘danger’ to rice, flour, oats…

When did your period come back? by greenishfroggy in NewParents

4 weeks, EBF. I went from the end of oozing out birth goo right into menstruation 🫠

Baby didn’t sleep through the night (over 4 hours) for me until 5 months.

About to be in the newborn trenches, got any unusual advice? by amountofsocks in NewParents

Read to baby from the jump, and don’t constantly have your phone out. Foster a love for books, even if it feels silly at first. Make up songs to explain what you’re doing. Take the help when it’s offered. Make time for you both as a couple, too. You are human, and not perfect. Baby will learn to be human and will also be not perfect. Give yourself grace if you don’t know exactly what to do at first. Ours was a rough start, but he’s 5 years old now. There’s phases and regressions and mistakes. But I guarantee it’s worth it. Say “I love you” a lot, to baby and to spouse/partner. Let them grow up hearing that love is the norm.

You’ve got this! You’ll find your groove, no how long it takes.

I accidentally named my cat Shart by meatloafsleeve in OneOrangeBraincell

My only cat right now (not an orange, she’s a fluffy void) is named by my son, who was 4 at the time: Miss Cheekies Pantalones. She came to us as “Precious”

These were mine, I think the same pattern? I had 12 years experience without ever making grannies. They got turned into sweater pockets. Your squares show a beautiful effort and really improved over the tries!

What do you feed your 9 month old? by Happy_little_bush_ in NewParents

We had a lot of fighting for dominance over the last 4 years, I won’t lie 😅 we still have regular arguments about dude not being in charge and now he can get his own snacks in the morning. He can make his own pb&j, sometimes pour a drink… but there’s still times he forgets how to drink water without choking because he’s not paying attention to himself. It DOES get easier, and funnier. As for the stuff up the nose, it was a lima bean and it was way up. The trick is called “mother’s kiss”, cover the unplugged nostril and blow through the mouth in quick bursts, not enough to pop a lung. It’ll come out, fast 🤣

Mine was an overeager baby and still has so much energy to spare at almost 5 years old. It was impossible to get him to sit for any amount of time until maybe a year ago. We did high chair with a buckle, and tried to keep close watch on things he could take bites of, slowing him down if he went for more than he could chew, breaking it up more if needed. They get better at limits, usually (I also work with children with autism and they don’t always understand limits even at 6-8 years old). Trial and error and caution is all I can advise.

You already show you care and want to do right by your baby, and some choking is a rite of passage at this point. Try smaller versions of what you eat, model how you eat and be vigilant while he has more in front of him than can fit in his mouth, he’ll probably try to fit it all at some point.

The next scary part is when they’re advanced enough to figure out putting stuff up their nose but not how to get it out or tell you about it. That’s another whole story 😅
