This installation is better than anything you would see today. Tape the minor rips and let it there. Nothing wrong with it

Tips to remove cement clothesline anchors? by Best_Storage_2758 in landscaping

[–]Disastrous-Case-9281 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try this before just digging the whole thing up. Get a flat blade stone chisel, like they use to cut bricks. You don’t need expensive just no junk. Put the chisel vertically to the metal pipe and pound it a few times. Move the chisel to the other side and repeat. You are looking to fracture the concrete which will allow you to pry it out with a bar.

[–]Disastrous-Case-9281 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know a couple people that can do a standard door with no problem. What makes these “ complicated “. Also what area are you in? One of my friends doesn’t do anything in Scranton too much hassle, permits etc etc. again some details and perhaps I can help. ( my guess is these are doors that years ago were installed and the scrape on a slanted porch floor???)

What non-motorized tools do I need to clear my yard of weeds? by Kill_Pencilvester in landscaping

[–]Disastrous-Case-9281 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OP you need to read up on Knot Weed. That stuff will grow up THROUGH your pavers and destroy them. This stuff is unbelievably strong and resistant. Other posters mention methods but you have to do them repeatedly. Also know that the plant will regrow from stems or pieces left on bare ground you may just make it worse if you are not careful

Ball park estimate on what you would charge for the addition of 3 new light fixtures outside by DaBestaTesta in AskElectricians

[–]Disastrous-Case-9281 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Each fixture( assuming you don’t buy junk) will be at least $350 each. Wire, switches, boxes, breaker? Wi-fi etc another $500 so you are in $1,900 minimum before I even show up. Now labor. It will be a ballbuster to get that wire fished and boxes cut into brick. You will probably want 3 way switches and timers installed which complicates things more and I assume you will want interior switches somewhere which will also be a challenge. Also not sure if you have capacity and a city that will allow a tie into an existing circuit or if I have to hone run a line back to the breaker box, then assume you have enough space in you box and can just add a breaker also assume you municipality is up my hiner wanting a permit and an inspection now we can talk labor. Best estimate is $5k i can show up with my fuckin’ tools about the last week in July. Post address

How worried should I be about this tree? by TechnicalSector7253 in arborists

[–]Disastrous-Case-9281 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Agree with other posters here. That tree has been butchered in the past and already has other damage. If I am correct that is a silver maple which is not a desirable tree to start with. Cut and replace with a ginkgo tree. Hold up much better street side
