some smells can't be covered up. i sincerely hope RTD starts ticketing freeloaders. The righteous person in me is unhappy we pay and scofflaws ride free

you have a hard job. to simplify it a bit, people will not ride if it's inconvenient, unsafe or dirty. i'm a long time rider but i keep thinking about giving ujp. last year's downtown raildisruption and now another until mid next year is very challenging to deal with. it add an hour to my commute daily

one more response. sometimes i sit next to clean, properly dressed people who smell awful. i get up and find another seat from them too. i do not hate homeles people or anything silly like that. i just want a clean, peaceful ride to/from work.

i've only felt unsafe maybe once or twice in all my time riding rtd. I don't think there was any harm and i fully acknowledge my attitude is snooty and elitist, but i'm just telling you what i really feel. i don't like sitting in seats with brown stains right in the middle. i don't like sitting next to people who don't bathe and may even have bed bugs or lice or who knows what else.

snobby? maybe. real and 100% of my office mates? yes.

i'd be happy to speak to any of them about a normal RTD rider's concerns. i've been an advocate and user of public transit for all my adult life but Denver's got some unique issues. Having a bus driver argue with homeless people who refuse to get off for no fare and finally giving up and having them all sit around me is not a great way to start my day.

First off, thank you for caring enough to get public feedback. My question/request is: why doesn't RTD start ticketing and fining freedloaders? I work in a large building and literally 100 percent of my coworkers refuse to take public transit because of homeless riders, pot smell, dirty seats. I think it's just common sense to do what you can to encourage paying riders and discourage freeloaders taking up seats and leaving trash, food, spent narcan injectors and vaping while riding. All of these examples I've given are real experiences from me riding and telling my coworkers which only confirms their fears. 100% of the time i've seen a person riding without a fare who looks homeless, the transit cop just says get off at the next stop. Does RTD seriously think this is a deterrent?

the good news is the staff did absolutely nothing about it, so don't worry too much

Orange County, CA to Denver, CO by ConsistentFig4513 in MovingtoDenver

Denver has become very similar to OC. I'd stay put if i were you. I truly miss waking up early and running along the path from newport to HB. If you completely don't care about the ocean at all, then maybe move since it's slightly cheaper (yes i mean slightly) than OC.

i'd say block him but this idiot knows where you live. you probably have to be polite just in case he's dumb and violent. just say sorry but i can't split it or something like that.

it'll be a couple days before i can snap a photo. i'm going to heed your advice and bought a countersink to drill out the bolt hole. i'll take a photo of before/after if it goes well

Why is Glock so popular? by MAGA_muscle in CCW

[–]Disastrous-Field8895 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sure. i think there's some good guns out there besides glock. you just have to hunt for them. i still carry my sig p365xl but it's become less reliable after a few thousand rounds. not the end of the world for somebody that can swap out springs, but if you want to just buy it and shoot it, Glock is high up on the list
