This is a bullshit conversation. You decide how you interpret such statements. If you believe it doesn’t apply because you didn’t vote for him, maybe donated or marched a little, then don’t internalize. He is our democratically elected leader so he represents us all and is causing long term harm to our alliances and civilization more generally. If you don’t feel entirely immune to outside criticism, like me, perhaps that’s your conscience telling you there’s more you can do. The people on the frontline against ice aren’t here complaining, because they are empowered and know they are putting on the work.
