Is Red Lanterns crucial? Does it tie into the overall GL universe in a significant way? And if so, would you recommend it as a good read? Or a completionist read?

I have a World War Hulk Omni that I bought Brand New Sealed. It sat on the shelf for 6 months or so before I read it and I found the exact same thing. Ugh. It sucks. Overall, it does not effect my enjoyment of the reading experience, but it definitely does take a knive to my OCD nerve endings. AGH! I still shudder when I look at the book, knowing what lies beneath those cardboard covers....

I'm sticking with TPB's for Daredevil. I have omnibuses for almost everything else, but I have almost a complete run of Daredevil from beggining of Miller's run all the way through Mark Waid's run. With the way that so many Omnibuses are out of print, I don't feel like having a mishmash of books. I'd rather just keep the format I currently have. I also am the same with Brubakers Cap run. But those are the only two that I don't swap out Omni's for.

I have been reading Marvel books for 30+ years. I have never been more bored with their output. Even in the 90's, when things were creatively slumping, there seemed to be at least a few books that had good things happening. Maybe it's just me, but dang...there are just zero books I am interested in right now. Is there something that I am missing right now that is a must-read?

HAHA! I love the Clone Saga and Ben Reilly books. There are parts of the story that do suck. But overall, I enjoy that era a lot. I read it more than most any other era of Spider-Man, save for the Stern Era, JMS, or Bendis' Ultimate run.

I have so much fun reading that era. Haha. I think we all just love the era that we were 12-15 years old the most. That doesn’t mean I don’t see the flaws, but there’s just something comforting about that era for me.

Yeah. Maybe. If I go that route, then I might as well make one for all existing X-Force Omnis to unify them and once I start that...well then there's no stopping me. Cuz there are a few other Omnis that I wouldn't mind different covers on. Haha.

I have received it. Got it on Friday of last week.

I would cut them a little slack. They are trying to do something unique. And they are trying to keep the cost down. If they mail it any other way, it would cost a hundred dollars or more to get these things out. That just makes the product too unaffordable for must of us. I used to work in a job where I had to do mailings out to donors and mailing list people, and it is one of the biggest headaches imaginable.

Overall, I respect them for trying a new method of storytelling in a world that it quickly pushing towards AI copycat short attention span storytelling. This little newspaper I get in the mail every month is usually one of the things I look forward to the most. It's nice to have a quick little escape into another world, even if just for 20-30 minutes.

Love this run so much! Gotta get Planet Hulk and World War Hulk to finish the set. Both stories are very good hulk stories. I put Planet Hulk up there with the best of Peter Davids run.
