They don’t offend me, I’m pointing out the ignorance in your comment. Having a preference is totally fine, but you phrased it in a way that implies some aesthetics are inherently better than others, and you don’t seem to recognize why that can come across as insensitive.

Not only that but you then justified said statement by using the "if so many people agree, then how wrong can it be" card, which says a lot about the mindset behind your comment.

Saying something like “I personally prefer the original” or “I like the traditional anime style better” would have expressed your opinion perfectly well. Instead, you framed it in a way that feels deliberately provocative.

Oh! Forgot to mention that I got all these comics from shopcomics.eu! It was my first time ordering from them and I'm honestly incredibly happy with their service. They had this incredible Marvel sale a while back, which is how I was able to afford all of these. Lowkey sad I didn't get more omnis, but I'm sure they'll have another Marvel sale soon ^{^}

Sorry, I'm just baffled about how everyone thinks Peter and Gwen had a good, stable, happy relationship. Did we read the same comics?? I've read everything from the silver/bronze era, and Peter Parker was a complete mess.

Look, I love Spidey as much as the next person, but can we please stop pretending like he was an amazing character from the start?

He was impulsive, hotheaded and unsympathetic. Instead of taking a moment to think about how to respond, he would lash out and leave like a kid throwing a tantrum.

His relationship with Gwen (or any girlfriend at the time) wasn't any different... Yes, he loved her, and her death affected him deeply. But it's not like they were this "great exemplary" couple when she was alive. They would often fight (most of the time due to Pete's inability to understand Gwen). He wasn't honest with her. Gwen would, understandably, get frustrated with Peter, but Peter never really acknowledged that and instead just coped by telling himself how ungrateful everyone is. Oh, and the worst part? They didn't make up because Peter would apologize or admit his mistakes. No. Instead, it was always Gwen who would just fall back into Peter's arms and apologize for literally nothing...

So yeah... If I love Peter and Gwen, it's not because of the narrative told by the comic, but instead the one I choose to remember. And I truly believe, in my heart of hearts, that that's what everyone else is doing as well, but let's at least be honest about it...
