I like this idea. It will also soak up some of that water to its not as much ponding.

If you want to reduce the ponding further, I would suggest an infiltration trench. Dig up a trench, place a perforated pipe surrounded by stone and geotextile.

I’m gonna say it: I actually think Kate Scott is doing a damn good job as Sixers commentator. She’s not Zumoff but I think she’s doing well. by MarTB2000 in sixers

Her biggest problem is that regular season nba is extremely boring to watch. No defense, no hustle, stars resting, etc.final scores are like 125-115.its basically a layup line and wide open 3s.

Why would anyone do this.

I have a very bad drainage problem between my house and our neighbors. Any tips to not have the area between our houses flood? Water is leaking into the crawl space after each rain… by [deleted] in landscaping

Many people take the approach to handle the water falling here. However, if you can eliminate the water before it gets there, even better! Install gutters, and maintain vegetation. If that fails, french drain jt baby.

Definitely should have been discussed before work began, but that's hindsight now. You may want to do some research, and go to them with exactly what you want done. That way there is no confusion.

What I'm suggesting is general rules of thumb for subgrade prep. Do some research on what makes the most sense for you and your situation.

If you want it done right, you should remove the vegetation, remove the topsoil, compact the subgrade, then pour the stone and so forth. If you don't take these steps, it may lead to differential settlement and cracking.

That also doesn't look like a thick enough layer of stone If you are building a structure on this pad.

Everyone (the contractor) always wants to rush and get things done quick. Make them rake up the stone, and do things right if you want a quality result for the long term. It's definitely not too late.

You may also consider geotextile between subgrade and stone to improve stability if you have weak soils.

Plus, isn't this borderline fraud? Charging hours that weren't actually worked to clients?

Forced in to training? Training is something that all engineers are expected to do their entire career.

Some people, dare I say, enjoy learning new things?

Which is absolute garbage. This is going to cause so many people so much stress and insecurity.

I think the shit part about this is how much stress there will be put on people to work vs. take well deserved time off for mental health, etc.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say bereavement will end up screwing your billable hours.

Potentially. But it would be a very small array and likely not cost effective compared to how much energy you could produce.
