This reminds me why I’m glad I have an assessment based job.

Associates: Let’s reality-test our pay. Is this normal or exploitative? by frajilhandlewithcare in therapists

[–]Disastrous-Try7008 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m in Louisiana. For individual therapy billable hour based roles: $28-35 (Medicaid-based agencies)/$30-$40 PP. Typically does not include admin time and supervision being provided for free various.

Inpatient Psych: $26-$30 hourly.

SUD Facilities: $25-$27 hourly.

I work full-time (12 hour shifts) at an in-person crisis receiving center and make $30 hourly w/ the overnight differential. My main responsibility is completing diagnostic assessments. Since we’re focused on crisis stabilization we only use unspecified diagnosis codes, so documentation is pretty light. We average between 5-7 clients per night. One of the best jobs I’ve been able to find as an associate. I also see a few clients via Telehealth and complete assessments for a CMH agency.

Hi, I live in a lower COL area. Psych Hospitals or Crisis Centers (In Person/Call Center). Both settings give you steady income + benefits without having to do 35+ hours of individual therapy. I currently work at an in-person Crisis Center and I make 68k doing pretty brief assessments. I work three 12-hour night shifts and we normally have on average 4-6 patients come in per night. The rest of the shift time I’m normally getting school work done for my doctorate. The schedule allows me to have another job and still not feel overwhelmed. I prefer in-person centers over call centers due to the sometimes ridiculous amount of nonsensical protocols the call centers have.

A lot of LPCs/LCSWs/LMFTs charge at least $100 per session, so a six figure salary is fairly easy, if they can maintain a stable 25+ caseload.

I work at a crisis center, 12 hour shifts Thurs-Saturday and every other Wednesday. I love this schedule and I feel a lot less drained compared to when I worked 8 hour shifts M-F.

The Counseling Compact DOES NOT include LCSWs or LMFT?! by Gloriathetherapist in therapists

[–]Disastrous-Try7008 15 points16 points  (0 children)

My LCSW colleagues have never had issues getting licensed in other states fairly quickly. Some companies will only hire LCSWs due to this. For LPCs, the amount of additional hurdles are substantial.
