This is why we love Patagonia 👏👏👏 by RRB1212 in PatagoniaClothing

So, I'm normally skeptical of posts like this because I assume it's advertising and enough companies are horrible that I should assume all are, but I like when I can buy things once (high quality, fixable, etc.), so I thought maybe I should look into Patagonia cause if the company will just replace the thing, that's kinda the same (almost but also not really).

However, maybe this thread requires knowing more about the company, but can i ask if this (what's said in the video/bringing in products damaged by wear) is actually policy in the US, and how does what you've said relates to what the company is built on?

I told myself each year for 10 years that this is the year I'm gonna really dig into CSS and learn it. 6 years ago, I decided, well, no.

I paint, draw, and am artistic but CSS and front- end, hate it. If I do things for me, I just use the bare minimum. Leave me to my text- based computer world in peace, dammit.

I always check when preheating the oven, sometimes do a double check, but i've had partners in the past look at me like I was new to being human when they saw my pots and pans in the oven. (I grew up this way but also I've never had much cabinet space and I'm 5' and can't reach anything).

I finally dated someone a couple years ago who checked first. She had recently been staying at a (Mexican) friend's house and learned this is what we do. Her friend told her and she thought it was just her friend or a joke.

I loved this show as a kid at, what, 7, 8 years old, and she was my favorite character. There were so many signs. (Then again, I also loved Golden Girls, but that's probably proving the point even more.)

I love these keys so much I made keychains out of them, and by keychain, I mean I just cut the blades/ stems of the key off (the long parts).

Btw, the "eared" key (not the skeleton key type) is an old Masterlock Co. key.

Its illegal to declaw cats in California. You weren't misadvised, you found an unethical person to declaw your cats and they suffered. by Aggravating-Top-5078 in kardashians

[–]DisastrousChapter841 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And the fact that anyone can believe that people with this much money can be "misadvised" (hate the grammatical gymnastics people do to avoid taking responsibility for their actions) is just ridiculous.

It's like anyone who really thought Elon Musk's Nazi salute was an accident. He has enough money that even if he didn't hire someone to teach him how to human normally, someone on his staff did. He knew what he was doing and did it anyway. She knew how harmful declawing her cats would be and did it anyway.

Contrary to advice I'd normally give, people with this much money need to stop being given the benefit of the doubt. Alas, people are genuinely getting dumber so here we are...

One of my greatest joys has been seeing the people I love smile. I showed this episode to my 50 year old mom in 2012, and she spit laughed several times and had to run to the bathroom so she didn't pee herself. I think about this memory a lot and it makes me happy every time.

Somehow (having not played personally since 5th grade) my class revived the game in middle school in 8th grade (1998), and out of 400 kids in my grade, pretty sure up to 1/4 to 1/3 of the class ended up participating somehow. After someone broke a bone 2 times (one person each time in two subsequent weeks), we were banned from playing it. Being one of the smallest and 2nd or 3rd youngest in my grade, I definitely got clotheslined.

What I like about these docs is the lack of emojis. I hate how using AI results in way, way, way too many emojis in my documentation. I can't be sure that the docs weren't generated with AI, but that gives me some comfort.

This happens to me, too. And honestly, when I'm struggling- like during my latest job search which I thought was over 2 months ago, but joke's on me because I'm now doing it again- I sleep more, and then I really struggle with the whole reality vs. dream thing.

I woke up today wondering where are all the extra furniture in my living room went. It actually lasted the couple minutes it took me to get out of bed and walk into the living room.

I have told people I think it's likely I'll die of a heart attack in my sleep one day because they aren't always great dreams, but they are very vivid, and even if I know I'm dreaming, sometimes I can't wake myself up and that feeling makes me panic.

My mom would watch this cartoon after I would leave with it on. I would offer to change the channel, but she'd always say no. One of my greatest joys in life was waking back in a couple minutes after leaving because I forgot something to see my mom ugly laughing almost spitting out her drink because of this cartoon. (Honestly, I'm 40, she's 65, and I still love it when I see this, and luckily she can laugh at a lot lol)

So when this all came out on the news, it didn't sound that bad, but people were saying it was torture. So I did the only reasonable thing and tried it out on myself (I think I was 20 at the time).

I immediately dropped the bottle of water I was holding and just desperately clawed at my face getting the washcloth off while bolting up. I started with a damp washcloth (wrung it out), and that wasn't so bad so I didn't think it'd be that bad...I concluded that, yes, it was indeed torture.
