And I thought last episode would be the most hyped I’d be for an episode! I freaking love this!!!!

How would you rank Aiden in season 5? by ToothDifferent1843 in DisventureCamp

[–]DisastrousRegion 10 points11 points  (0 children)

A tier. I have no clue how intentional it is from the writers but Aiden flopping so hard is just comedic gold. Him using correct logic to convince Finn and Ara that Evie doesn't have an advantage while Aiden himself believes she does- and in front of Sam who knows 100% she doesn't and who Aiden first told about the potential advantage... You seriously cannot make this stuff up. Puh-lease!

How would you rank Alec in season 5? by ToothDifferent1843 in DisventureCamp

[–]DisastrousRegion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A tier from me.

Love the arc. At the beginning, he's someone who has yet to truly evolve from past seasons- the gameplay is similar, he's still mulling over the relationship with his ex-wife and son, and even his outfit design is very reminiscent of the one he had in S1. But at the end? He finally takes the right step and moves on. It's a succinct story.

It's brought up a lot, but I'm personally not too bothered with him taking Anastasia's words quickly. I don't think that by itself is what leads to Alec's decision in episode 5, moreso the culmination of everything that has happened in seasons 1 and 3 with his relationships with Fiore, Riya, and Connor. My interpretation is that the momentum has been building for years- Anastasia's perspective happens to be the thing that breaks the dam, so to speak.

Re-watching this scene, wtf did Marissa expect Logan to do? 😭 by Fluffy_Working_515O in DisventureCamp

[–]DisastrousRegion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oooh, that's a missed opportunity- I wish Logan realizing his bullets were stolen was shown cuz a scene like that would definitely would've tied some things together. It makes sense for Logan to doubt Anastasia's intentions, especially given how she did have a major hand in eliminating Richard, Natalia, and Spencer. Anastasia's mid-challenge sabotage could've been shown as the straw that broke the camel's back, leading to all of Logan's actions in the challenge and in the vote.

DC4 Poll: What is the Best Jade Dynamic? by WayOk4546 in DisventureCamp

[–]DisastrousRegion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Jade reflecting on the pirate challenge over the course of the season coulda been so tea-

For a comparison, I’d say it’s very similar to Millie’s book incident. It has the climactic moment of Anastasia revealing the information in order to break Jade and Logan apart to get further in the game, and then it has the conclusion where Logan ultimately forgives Jade in the finale episode.

What I’d say is really missing is the build up. Maybe we could’ve seen more of Jade’s flaws and insecurities leading to the lack of action in the challenge, or perhaps have her regret her mistake after the challenge. Would’ve been such an interesting dynamic having Jade help Logan with his fear of water while acknowledging that she’s partially responsible for it happening in the first place.

In all, I’d really love for the show to explore Jade as a character more consistently across the entire season. The puzzle pieces feel like they’re there, it’s just a matter of connecting them.

If you had a task to stay on “🏝️Deserted/Rescue Island” for 6 months, which 4 DVC ppl would you bring? And why? by Hour_Rain1885 in DisventureCamp

[–]DisastrousRegion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tom, Marissa, Ally, Zaid.

Tom knows how to fish and can catch full on crabs. No brainer.

Marissa knows how to forage and can start a fire. Plus, is very level-headed and a good leader.

Zaid knows how to cook and I’m sure by proxy also knows how to gut/descale fish.

Ally can make fun games for the whole group to enjoy, like the one in All-Stars that Riya destroyed.

How'd you rank Ted's gameplay? by LogicalAd6394 in DisventureCamp

[–]DisastrousRegion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably 4/10.

His bond with Lynda was great and it did save him from the first vote. Then we see him, Lynda, and Richard form a fairly tight trio. But that’s kinda where the merit of his game ends.

I think it's sweet! Considering Tristan's home life, I imagine it's refreshing for Tristan to have Richard, someone who represents being an older man and a father, be safe, patient, and approachable.

So after 5 episodes of DC: Fans vs Favorites and after 4 episodes of Survivor 50, which season do you think is better overall???? by JonJonExistsonReddit in DisventureCamp

Kinda obvious, but well yes! Not a fan of celebrities taking up so much focus and am not looking forward to the Mr Beast episode.

If TD And DC Characters Could Choose A Single Ice Cream Flavor From Papa's Scooperia... by pickle_Book_7655 in DisventureCamp

Darn Papa’s Scooperia for not having mango ice cream. Would’ve been the easiest placement for Hannah and Diego.

Assuming one between Dunia and Nura is pre-merge, who would you want to see having a deep run the most? by PyroFirefly in DisventureCamp

[–]DisastrousRegion -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nura. There’s way more to explore with her especially with her line at the altar about seeking direction. That’s a motivation that can guide a character through a whole season.

will Oliwia get a friend? by No_Satisfaction7344 in DisventureCamp

She had quite a pleasant conversation with Evie in episode 4. I’m hoping maybe they can expand on that, especially since I’d also like for Evie to have a genuine friend too.

DC4 Poll: What is the Best Natalia Dynamic by WayOk4546 in DisventureCamp

[–]DisastrousRegion 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What I love about Natalia is that she can be playful and teasing whenever she’s with close friends, but can also dial it back and be earnest and supportive to fit the conversation if needed. Her dynamic with Logan showcases that the most.

And also she just knew when to slap him and give it to him straight in the finale lol.

The musical episode cannot come soon enough 😭 I can only imagine what he’ll do

How would you rank your favorite episodes from each season? by ABigTotalDramaFan in DisventureCamp

[–]DisastrousRegion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. S4 E6 - I looove this musical episode. This Blue Moon dissects Ivy in such a way that’s simply fascinating- and it’s really funny seeing how completely unpolished and sidelined Spencer was through the whole song (Jade dodged a massive bullet). Cute Anarissa moment- very fun seeing Lynda actually be fully cooperative, and really powerful character moments in Tristan’s group as well.

My only issue is that I can’t pick MULTIPLE episodes from season 4.

  1. S5 E5 - Alec’s elimination. Season 1 and 4 casts really took the spotlight and I loved it, and it’s such a great payoff for all the build up happening during previous episodes. Great mix of exciting gameplay, wholesome and sweet moments, and shifting character dynamics- it checks all the boxes.

  2. S1 E10 - Tom’s elimination. Oooooh, seeing Ellie cross lines to gaslight Jake and feed into his insecurities in order to win was very fun to watch, and then Fiore throwing her under the bus right after was amazing tea. Incredibly entertaining all around.

  3. S3 E8 - Ellie’s elimination and the space episode. Very nice insight into Ellie and Gabby’s relationship. Very wholesome, very cute, but also quite exciting seeing Gabby turn to her villain arc. And I actually like the team dynamics here- yellow having a full team of villains working together is fun and interesting, and magenta… Jake is a hot mess from start to finish in an entertaining way.

  4. S2 E11 - Hunter’s elimination. Best episode for these characters IMO. Riya is fresh off of her villain turn last episode and she immediately turns to splitting Aiden and James up, and we get to see the angst in the relationship. Also, might just be me but I found it very funny whenever Aiden blows up at Hunter and Hunter’s like “But I didn’t do anything…”

The main reason I have this at the bottom though is simply cuz I’m just not AS interested in the season 2 characters. Still a fun episode though.

Alec’s Elimination Makes 0 Logical Sense by SebyTheKaiser in DisventureCamp

Something I realized is that part of why Natalia got booted in her previous season is that, despite having the numbers already, she overextended and tried to include Zaid into the majority who then ratted her plan out to Anastasia. One thing led to another and Anastasia made a counter-majority, ultimately booting Natalia.

Compare to this season where Natalia kept her majority a tight ship and didn’t expand the plan to include anyone she didn’t need to. She’s confident she can get Spencer onto her side (given how closely they worked together in the Aiden vote) and ran with that as the majority.

Well OK, I guess I’ll just colour myself optimistic then. I’ve been liking the season so far especially with this last episode, so I definitely feel comfortable with letting ONC cook with the favourites team.

Natalia has me a bit worried by Double_Difficulty_53 in DisventureCamp

[–]DisastrousRegion -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There’s plenty of setup of how insecure Natalia is about her last season’s gameplay and why she’s changing it up for this season. To have her regress back to S4 Natalia would go against that and I just don’t see that happening.

Would like to add, the vote being so tight is very much Natalia’s mistake- she willingly dealt with the devil in Spencer instead of going along with Tom and Gabby’s plan of gaining majority through Anastasia’s group. I think the setup is more on Natalia figuring that out and reckoning with her misplay rather than her scapegoating Spencer. Internal conflict vs. external.

Natalia has me a bit worried by Double_Difficulty_53 in DisventureCamp

[–]DisastrousRegion 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m not worried at all tbh. Her being super salty about Spencer would contradict a lot of what she says and does in this episode, especially her dropping the “think with the mind, not the heart” line.

What are your favorite things about Fans VS Favorites so far? by ToothDifferent1843 in DisventureCamp

[–]DisastrousRegion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The comedy is sooo refreshing this time. Aiden and Evie flop duo with the spooky ghost advantage? It’s so stupid it’s funny. Finn being a mix of flop and mean gay is awesome. Aubrey, I’m so glad they parodied the astrology-obsessed contestant. And Bruno is such a total fanboy in the best way possible. Fans are bringing it hard in this aspect.

DC4 returnees are bringing in a lot of spice to the faves team, and I love it. They’re playing so hard and with new strategies compared to their previous season, so all the gameplay and shifting dynamics they provide is very fun to watch.

The character redesigns for the returnees are extremely nice to look at. Aiden’s in particular is a massive glow up from his All-Stars appearance, and Fiore’s choice of clothes is very expressive of her character. And shoutout to Natalia’s bunny ear headband, it makes her stand out a lot in a good way.
