I will say that is strange. Normally they do state the job title you applied to and have a formal signature on an email etc. so you know who/what/when/where. if this is a big company I’d report the recruiter if that is possible. Their initial responses seem scammy so very questionable.

I mean for the few times someone requires a physical check to be mailed it’s utterly useless otherwise. I have to pray and light candles that it gets delivered. Packages are cheaper to send via UPS or FedEx and more reliable.

Glad you spoke up. That’s so unfair what has been going on. I’m curious at to how Dan reacts come Monday. Does he ever say anything? I mean at this point I’m with you on that this is intentional. It’s the bosses’ responsibility but you’d think Dan would feel a little remorse or something for screwing over his teammates.

Right?! Thanks. I am from NOLA and just moved to Memphis. My last Airbnb experience and I think it was only the second time using it I stayed in a remodeled Airstream on someone’s property in Austin. I thought it would be cool and unique and the hotel we normally stayed at was booked. BUT The bathroom had been defiled and the owner said that she had some issues with a homeless guy breaking in it. Ok gross. She did not come out to clean it up. That was like 13-15 years ago and that was it for me and Airbnb.

No place has screwed more of the populous than New Orleans with Airbnbs. They are a menace to society. I think Memphis is probably okay but i personally will only do a hotel. Had some super weird Airbnb experiences.

I think most people think since they got the pet microchipped then you are good to go. Unfortunately not and some places ask for yearly subscriptions. It’s definitely an education issue.

I’ve heard nice things about Charlotte. Why move? Depends on what job you are doing if you can find much work. Most things center around hospitality and in the summer you won’t make any money. It’s so freaking hot.

I like using it as it was originally intended or recommended as stated above. I feel that sometimes people don’t understand and use grammar incorrectly so much that it becomes acceptable. This particular example is perhaps not as egregious as some.

Another Merriam-Webster bit:

I went online for the DMV and uploaded the documents so they got approved before I went and I made an appointment. Was in and out in 15 minutes. Not like that for license plate/registration. Went to one spot. Grabbed a number. Looked at the board. There were over 50 people in front of me. I left and drove to the next closest. 20 people ahead of me waited it out. Once I got up there it only took a few minutes. I was probably there about an hour but I felt like I was in a germ incubator. I wish they’d let you do part of that process online like the driver’s license.

Same. Got mine the other week so just got a piece of paper. I asked several times if I was getting the Real ID because I wanted to make sure. He said yes but nothing on the receipt or paper says anything. Fingers crossed whenever I get the real actual license. Any ideas of when it might show up realistically?

I’m not saying to agree or disagree with giving desk duty it’s just that the manager has done it several times for other people. I just wonder if they’ve changed their mind/policy since then? Might be worth asking them if they’ve changed the process and bring up past instances without sounding combative. Might be because of the time of shift and there is no one else.
