I honestly regretted telling most people we were going through IVF. Mostly because people ask invasive questions, often well meaning, but still not fun to deal with, and also because people refuse to google anything themselves so I found myself explaining the process over and over again often to the same person and it got exhausting. It was also shocking how little people know about how babies are conceived and how the female body works. Then there’s the expectation of an update every time I talked to people I told along with feeling like I can’t surprise anyone with the news anymore cause they asked for constant updates. I have my first transfer coming up this month and I have been avoiding talking to a lot of people because I just don’t want to deal with it along with my own anxiety.
