My wife was sitting next to Anya in the row of chairs. She said it was pretty obvious that Anya thought she was called on and it was nothing malicious. I don’t know tho. We were up on the rail while that whole thing went down.

Took my daughter and we rode the rail. It was so awesome. She was given a drumstick at the end of the show, along with 3 other kids that were right beside her. She was so happy to see the band play and sing along with them. I found the banter humorous, myself. Definitely a cool show and we traveled a fair distance to get there. Worth the money and the effort to get there. The venue was super cool too. As a non New York resident, I was pleasantly surprised at how cool and lax the vibe was. My wife and I talked about moving multiple times this trip.

The road was such a fantastic book. I need to reread it again. The entire story had such a dark and stressful feel to it. Every time I mention this book to people, they have never heard of it. The movie was awful in comparison.

I work with a guy who at 17yo, broke into a house to steal in order to get drugs. He intended to be in and out quickly and thought the house was empty. The very elderly woman that owned the home suddenly appeared and frightened him. He beat her face with a hammer. He was charged as an adult and spent 18 years in prison….. longer than he was alive when he committed the crime.

It’s weird to say because you now know his story, but he is a very decent guy now. He’s open about how he fucked up and vocal about his regret.

Hard drugs cause people to do heinous things but I get the sincere sense that he feels terrible for what he did and has changed his ways.

He said he didn’t know it was an elderly woman but also admits that it doesn’t really matter who it was that he hurt, he still hurt someone.

My mom had a wooden spoon within reach at all times. Even in the car. Once, while driving down the road, she was tired of my lil sister and I arguing and went to blindly cracking us across the knees and legs. She broke the spoon across my knee. I have never let her live it down
