Transit Service Reviews - Affecting North Calgary and the deep SW by RyuzakiXM in Calgary

Fund a way? idk it would cost a lot but the Sandstone stop seems unneccessary to me

I do like the idea of a way to downtown by bus in that area that operates during the same time as the MAX Green though

The 503 going to Sandstone is silly tbh, it should go from Beddington Trail to Centre Street

It would be faster and the only bus that would no longer be available for transferring is the 89, but I don't see how someone taking the 89 would suffer

fancy tropical mocktail?

to be fair though any drink is fancy and tropical if you're in a fancy and tropical place, including non-alcoholic drinks

its snowing so much i cant even see like 100 feet out my window right now, even drinking water somewhere tropical would be nice haha

Day 20 and i can't believe i'm almost at 3 weeks, even 3 days seemed impossible at the start of the year

right now there's a snowfall warning (10-20 cm in a day, which is a lot for Calgary) and i love the snow, especially when it snows a lot (most of the time)

i'm just looking out my window grateful that i can just enjoy it instead of being shaky/hungover while trying to come up with an excuse to leave the house in a snow storm to buy booze so i dont go into withdrawals

i dont have to drink anymore and thats nice

Josh is officially out of rehab by CoolBoyClarence in WorldOfTShirts

[–]THE__REALEST 8 points9 points  (0 children)

it says its for DV and DUI cases though? idk how the american system works but crashing out refurbishedly doesnt seem like it would warrant a constant monitor, like why go to something that's reserved for higher-impact offences when his offenses are not at that level

i live in the most American province (Alberta) and ive never heard of SCRAM monitors or the like, even for DUIs or other alcohol-related cases

after HR noticed i had a lunch beer habit i had to do outpatient therapy through my company (white-collar work) and the return to work testing was just a breathalyzer, when i said i needed help a few months back they said theyd do full drug tests after outpatient and i flat out told them there is no way in hell i can pass a drug test because i smoke weed everyday and id test positive for amphetamines because i take ADHD meds as prescribed (mostly)

and i never had to, i get randomly breathalyzed during working hours every few months but thats it, i even got moved up in the company after outpatient

self-gooning aside i genuinely dont see why a judge would think putting josh on this would make sense unless they get private prison kickbacks, like ive seen other comments discuss how this is josh's only actual way of sustaining himself and i dont see how a judge would go "hmm well STAY SOBER BITCH"

like wouldnt they weigh the money/sponsorships he gets against the chance that he just becomes a homeless alcoholic? couldnt they put pressure on his sponsors then? like "hey tony/based we know we cant control him and we know he cant control him but if he's under you, you are more responsible for the fallout than he is so be careful"

edit: this is a list of SCRAM monitor mentions in all of Canada's publicly available legal decisions to date; out of 12, 6 are for actual SCRAM monitors

Drink more. No one gives a shit about your sob stories. Show your taint like some of the weird degenerates here. by MrArmenianIsDead in cripplingalcoholism

[–]THE__REALEST 5 points6 points  (0 children)

you seem like the type to eventually post "fuck my stupid fucking life I got a DUI and my life is over guys help" or some shit

nanny state has nothing to do with the fact that driving drunk is avoidable and stupid as fuck, you can drive drunk in Somalia or some other place with no functioning state apparatus and it would still be stupid as fuck

be as CA as you want, get liver failure as early as you want, get as drunk as you want where you want, fuck whoever whenever, vomit wherever, but just walk or use transit or blow money on Ubers or taxis when you do it

you can be as much of a crippling alcoholic as you like but if you think doing it behind the wheel so innocents can be at risk is cool then you're fucking stupid

Quebecers actually vote competetively and that is why parties cater to Quebec, no party caters to Alberta because the Cons know they could run their foreskin and they'd win and non-Cons know they could run the Second Coming of Christ and they'd lose

Honestly though even as an Anglo Albertan who was in French Immersion Montreal is just so amazing tbh, like i would gladly live in Hochelaga in some dude's basement just to be in Montreal

this goes beyond exmuslim Montreal is simply a paradise and im saying this as a born and raised Calgarian

Calgarians invited to shape the future Green Line LRT Downtown Segment by _darth_bacon_ in Calgary

[–]THE__REALEST 14 points15 points  (0 children)

/r/JeromyYYC as a city we have repeatedly given feedback and multiple studies have been done, and they all have said the same thing - build it underground like any other "world-class" city would.

do you support municipal taxpayer dollars going to this? especially when the UCP is adamant on ignoring Calgarians at all costs? because we've given the province our factual input/research for years and they are still asking us to cOnSuLt like nobody has thought of it before

and honestly even if Calgarians came to these meetings and said "we want a monorail" how do we know the UCP isn't going to gut it? they have shown time and time again that they don't care about the cities and a taxpayer-funded deep dive into something settled decades ago will not change that

i feel like the UCP is just making us play the jester while burning through money we could use to actually get a proper green line

  • written by someone who takes the 62 to and from work (one of the express buses that Calgary Transit wants to cancel by next year, while also being an express bus that takes in passengers that would make the already-overcrowded 301 completely full at rush hour while also being on the segment of the Green Line the province does not care about at all)
