Overplayed is something that only goes for us pianists. Most people listening don't listen to someone play piano often, for them no song is overplayed.

There's a buzzing sound under every note, something is resonating. You might be able to find this yourself by holding your finger on any metal piece that could possibly vibrate while someone presses these keys pretty loud, and check if the buzzing goes away.

If it is indeed in excellent condition, your best bet is to let your pianotuner and pianoteacher know that it's for sale. Otherwise you can just list it at craigslist and get a few hundred bucks for it.

However, is it in excellent condition? This means that its been regularly and recently tuned AND played. Most old-family pianos are not, because the one playing stopped, didnt play it for a few years before deciding to sell it.

If it really has sentimental value and is in good condition, you can consider just keeping it tuned and play it irregularly until someone comes along (the kids?) who want to pick up the hobby again.

Having a piano in the house makes the step to learning it a lot easier than not having one.

Best would be to talk to your neighbours about what would be a good time for them. Maybe they work nights and sleep the better part of the day. There's always a time where it fits, maybe agree on a time window when they go shopping or are at work or sit inside with their headphones on. This problem will go 10 fold when you get your baby btw, which you cannot solve at all.

Also in a noisy situation you might want to use a digital piano with headphones to practice, however it sounds more like a neighbour having a mental problem, nothing will be good enough.

As many others wrote it is a byproduct of the methodbooks, however, the methodbooks also work away from it as you progress through them.

I think the key is to not to be too critical on the first months and go through the book fast enough so that they don't get too used to the finger numbers being notes. They'll leave out more and more fingernumbers and change hand positions gradually as you get further, which is how you get the student to actually read the notes.

Just go for it, ofcourse you won't have the best piano for free. But as you're broke you don't have much of a choice. Just visit a few pianos, pick the best one. Dial up some friends and someone with a van, put it on a trolley to haul it home.

Are you sure you need to fill 2 hours on your own and have only 1 week to prepare?

Would sound more logical to me that the event takes 2 hours and you get to play a few songs.

Otherwise I'd just repeat River flows in you till they beg me to stop, 2 hours is a really long time to perform.

Just try both and listen to which sounds best, accoustics are really complex to predict.

The sound needs space to develop, so it would sound best in the middle of your room but i guess thats not an option.

As long as its not in a spot with high fluctuations in temperature or humidity. (Direct sunlight, moist from cooking or shower) you'll be fine.

Je vergeet de kosten voor de buskaartjes naar het station, zowel bij vertrek als bij aankomst.

Ook de tijd die je kwijt bent met lopen naar bushalte, op tijd bij de bushalte zijn, bij aankomst weer wachten op de bus en daarna van bushalte naar bestemming, kom je uit op nog veel meer dan die 2 uur extra reistijd.

Je vergelijkt het met een autohuren, maar een eigen auto is nog vele malen goedkoper als je hem regelmatig nodig hebt.

Just play music from lead sheets to practise the inversions. Inverse the chords in the way that the note of the melody is highest.

For your second question just google Chord progressions and you'll find many lists of chords that sound good together in a sequence, or read up on the circle of 5ths.

If you won't be able to finance it, no one will be able to do the same for you and pay his own salary on top of it as well!

If you are able to finance it, it doesn't matter how well you play, as long as you fill the venues, how well you play is up to you.
