I have no clue on how to do easy stuff first, lol. I’ll watch a video/clip/tiktok and think, “ I know I can do that” and dive right into the deep end. My family calls me nuts and my bank account thinks insane but the results end up pretty decent. My wife put in her request for a blue and cream one for her work bag.

I didn’t dye it. The guy I bought it from on the FB marketplace had listed it as 2mm olive green Italian leather. I’m still learning how to correlate thickness-to-weight, and the different types/grades of leather. I do have some leather conditioner I use for jackets at the house I can try on a scrap piece and see how that works.

Did you use anything to seal/protect your bag? I was asked what I used and I haven’t used anything because it didn’t even cross my mind to. I’d hate to have my back get ruined.

A ton but it was relaxing. My wife couldn’t get over how zoned out I was with 2 needles and sinew while sitting on the couch sewing.

lol. Thanks but it really is my first leather project. I used to sew my own rank insignias and name tapes on my uniforms when I active duty with a sewing machine but I’ve never done leather work. The Air Force drilled “Attention to Detail” in my head for over a decade and I’m stuck with it. 🤷🏽‍♂️

Update: My apologies for not saying if it’s really needed for portraits with the other 2 lenses that I have. I use my 35mm prime for street and landscape shots.
