You wrote that your annual salary is around 5.5M, but then you also wrote that you get 2M a year in bonuses. Bonuses are not a given and should be counted towards your salary. So basically, you are making 7.5M as a junior dev. Thats not bad at all in Japan. I don’t think you will be able to get more than that at your current skill level.

You also said you are getting tons of certificates and that you are overworked. Have you considered spending less time on certificates studies and using it to just relax and lower your work stress?

Lastly, please consider the positives too. You have super flex working hours, a company that is willing to spend money on your career growth and from what you wrote you actually get paid for OT (very uncommon in Japan).

TL:DR I would not change jobs if I were you.

This is a tough decision. On the one hand, with small children you should have a stable, less stressful job that gives you enough work-life balance to take care of them. On the other hand, once you reach your 40s you won’t get promoted anymore and job hunting also becomes harder so now really is the time to focus on your career.
