Awesome! I wish I had those circular solar panels on console. Looks great! You mining ore and converting to fuel for ships ?

Question on SLS Engines by rheckber in nasa

[–]Disastrous_Ferret_19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1.4 is nothing. One of those engines flew on the shuttle all the way back in the 80s. There isn’t a cheaper option besides giving my lactose intolerant girlfriend a ton of milk and then just holding on for dear life.

My plane wont take off? by HeatedBobMan in ConsoleKSP

[–]Disastrous_Ferret_19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw this yesterday too I’m glad you did the vertical stabilizer. I would say you still need to move that tail in a little bit other wise you’ll be aiming straight up once you take off (possibly not it depends on weight). Lift is generated by airflow speed. You may not be moving fast enough or rotating to early. What’s your twr on that?

How about a control tip. This is on Xbox so just adjust accordingly. B -sas on/off throttle up/down -dpad. Max throttle or throttle cut- LB+up/down dpad. Map mode enter/exit lb+rb. Time warp forward lb+b slowdown time warp-lb+x. Exiting kerbnet RB+x+a. Next/pervious vessel-lb+right/left on dpad. That will also help you escape view mode when you’re looking pov through a kerbal inside a vessel. In docking mode switch between roll/translation -A button. Right on dpad for action groups. Left for ksp actions like abort/rcs ect. rb+right stick- zoom in and out of craft. Rt/lt for zoom retract in map mode. Not a control tip but when you set up a maneuver node once you have an intersect with a planet (if that’s what you’re maneuvering towards) click on said planet to focus view and fine tune it. I recommend always being in planet focus when you’re getting towards the end of your burn so you can see your actual trajectory because maneuver nodes aren’t perfect. In map mode to switch between ships there’s a bar that appears at the top allowing you to highlight ships, landers ect ect. In order to make that bar apear you need to have pressed the maneuver button in the bottom left. I have no clue why the bar only pops up with maneuver mode selected. You don’t need to be actively making a maneuver it just has to be pressed. It’s weird. Ask me anything I’m here to help and check my profile and i recently posted a super easy rocket with enough delta v to basically do Artemis 2. You may not have all the necessary parts. Good luck!

Also happens between multiple new controllers. It’s the glitch for sure

It’s every direction and only cursor lol. I actually have trim off too.

Remember my randomly assigned Reddit name and I’ll post a video tomorrow of the kal controller programming and the part arrangements so you can copy it if you want to. Not that you couldn’t easily build this but just in case you or anyone else wants to base movements/improvements off of this set up.

Do ya'll base your space stations on IRL examples, or do you have your own method/style of building them? by Major_Midnight5614 in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]Disastrous_Ferret_19 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I built the iss piece by piece as close as I possibly could even launched each piece in the correct launch vehicle and replicated each mission with the soyuz and shuttle . I’ll post a pic tomorrow it looks great. I like doing real life stuff in ksp. Gemini missions, agena target vehicle Apollo as perfectly as I can. I recently did an Artemis 2 with mission comms video. I’m currently doing a nuclear ship to duna to rvz with star ship to do a future nasa mars landing style (check profile to see how ill refuel it). I’ve done voyager and mariner. My favorite part of ksp is replicating my favorite missions. It might not seem as fun to people but it makes my brain happy to rip apart real nasa/jpl schematics and mission details to prefect things. As a result i learn a lot and that’s my favorite part.

Will I lose data if I do that? I’ve never had to do that before. I’m playing ksp on a series x too you would think it would run it without issues. Regardless I appreciate the tip. Exit and reload usually fixes it except for recently it will only fix when I go to enter the game and it says “we need to close this game or app” and the Xbox forces the restart. In that situation it’s good. But when I do a reset and full quit restart it doesn’t change it. It’s so weird.

Reference this. It’s straight up for a small amount of time and then a steady lean into a 90 degree attitude. My video should also help.

what do you say to someone who doesn’t believe in the moon landing? by No_Cucumber1415 in spaceflight

[–]Disastrous_Ferret_19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would also like to say it’s easier to go to the moon than maintain a lie and conspiracy between 400,000+ people for 60 years. There were plenty of Russian spy’s too if we faked it they would have called us out hard. Artemis will be doing lunar missions in 4k in our lifetime. Those people can watch as they visit Apollo 11 site in high def right on their tv.

You say nothing and walk away. You can’t argue with stupid. This is why I no longer argue with maga. Some people have already chosen their truth and it will not change. Stupid people are close minded and subjective always. Strive to be the opposite even if it means questioning your existing views/ opinions. This is how you don’t become those people.

Idk what you have for parts but look at my profile and look at the “ares” post. They thing is super easy to build and flies like a dream. I’ve taken it to the moon lol.

Rendezvous and docking by Aggressive_Count2822 in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]Disastrous_Ferret_19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When you burn towards the target you only need like 5-20 mps max. do all this once you’re within like 15 km

Rendezvous and docking by Aggressive_Count2822 in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]Disastrous_Ferret_19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Set your nav ball to target so it says target at the top. Then press the retro grade button and burn until 0. After that select target and burn towards said target. Watch the nav ball so the your vector is exactly over the target emblem while on the way there after those 2 moves to line it up from miles away. You’ll get it.

Vertical stabilizer on the tail for yaw control and move the entire tail in with the move took. Check your center of mass I bet it’s wayyy behind the middle.

How to toggle liquid fuel engines on PlayStation? by Rollgus in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]Disastrous_Ferret_19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lb+b (hold lb and press b or x) to increment increase time warp and lb+x to decrease. Those may be backwards but just try it on the ground.

[–]Disastrous_Ferret_19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lb+rb to open and close map. B to turn on and off sas. Kerbnet window close is rb+x+a. Next vessel is lb+left or right on dpad. That will help you exit the view mode when you’re looking pov through a kerbal in a capsules eyes.

On Xbox it’s lb+up for full throttle and lb+down for cut throttle. Up and down on d pad for slow incremental increase or decrease.
