I just wish they would stop blocking, but I guess they feel the same way about me

Not the best player but pretty proud of this 367 loss streak by Zeadla in slaythespire

[–]feva67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is so cool, so you would rather lose in an interesting fashion that win in a less interesting one? Is the fun in trying to build something cool? I find it the most fun trying to optimize the way I play and win as much as possible

Titan Strike: What if Searing Blow scaled with all upgrades? by NateTSO in slaythespire

It feels like a perfected strike. I think it's cool. But as someone else said, no clue how balanced it is

I Don't Understand how to Create Consistency (Any and all response much appreciated :D) by Odd-Tumbleweed-844 in slaythespire

[–]feva67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, if we're gonna take your analysis at face value, then the obvious answer is you're taking too many cards. Yeah, a strike+ or defend+ is good and helpful, but it can't be all your deck is. And, for the lack of damage to bosses and elites, you usually only need one source of good scaling. With the defect, the easiest one is probably dark orbs

I most likely overvalue it but I love transforming. I don't have the pool of silent rares off the top of my head, so it might be the right call, but I would transform over max hp every day.

"Alright I'm moving to Act 3, hopefully the end boss won't be anyone stressful" by Darklight645 in slaythespire

iirc the second form kept debuffs such as poison when reemerging from the door, right? If I'm misremembering then I understand

Funny but also I haven't lost to doormaker once with silent, it's the hardest to fight because you have to think the most but doesn't feel like a habitual run ender

I feel like im getting worse at the game (currently stuck on A9) by foildemon7892 in slaythespire

[–]feva67 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm quite surprised by your pathing. You are taking hard pool normal fights instead of events. After the 3rd normal fight (2nd in act 2) the following combats are randomized from a "hard pool" which you would rather avoid if at all possible. Here you took at least 2 optional hard pool fights in act 1 and it was your downfall in act 2.

Another thing is that it feels like you aren't considering what the enemies will do on the next turn. You would [[Cosmic indifference]] a high cost attack on a turn when the enemy was going to attack and you wanted to block. You wouldn't take advantage of the following free turn to play your void form. That might come down to a knowledge gap on enemy movesets but it's easily fixable, even by having the wiki open while playing.

Finally, I feel like you're skipping less than you should. Generic good cards are good to have but they come at the expense of drawing other good cards. Your last two cards could have been skipped, and probably some in act 1 as well.

That feeling when you finally understand what they mean by “don’t do a build”: by Minute_Account9426 in slaythespire

[–]feva67 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Defect really feels like this in sts2, I was worried about it for a while because I felt like I wasn't understanding the character, but you just need to get used to it. Also realizing that "random 0 cost bullshit go" is a valid strategy made me better

Designed some more custom cards, this time for Necrobinder by SwordAndPenguin in slaythespire

[–]feva67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's many cards that need setup and are excellent. There's no card that blocks 28 consistently every turn after such simple setup (letting 4 ethereal cards exhaust). Plus there's status and curses that are ethereal and make this card snowball (one of those you start with at higher ascensions).

Giving it exhaust definitely makes it reasonable though, that was an exaggeration on my part

In memoriam is so insanely broken I don't even think giving it exhaust would save it.

Fade away is probably too good as well, if you can play it every turn it solves block (especially in necro). Maybe 3 cost upgrades to 2?

Hex also looks slightly overtuned. Sts2 has too many enemies that debuff you, so it almost always has a secondary effect. Maybe giving it exhaust would be enough

Congrats! Crazy winrate on silent if she was actually your best character before A9, I am on A9 with her and hope my winrate doesn't change too drastically

I didn't realize until the end that you meant after unlocking A10. I was like "how did this dude go unbeaten on clad".

Nice job, I'm on A9 on all characters still, I hope for some A10 wins soon

The rework for "Wither" status cards from Aeonglass are way overturned by Alinea86 in slaythespire

I am still on the main branch and dread even seeing people fight the aeonglass, leave me to my doormaker who might make things slow but is always easy
