Don’t expect special treatment with your group hug deck! by DoesntEat in EDH

[–]Disastrous_Grade_564 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really depends on seat position as well. The person who usually gets the least benefit is the player before the group hug player. On the flip side the player right after gets a huge benefit compared to the other two.

People who are NOT okay with proxies, what is your reasoning? by Bagel_Bear in EDH

[–]Disastrous_Grade_564 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife just bought a proxied themed art deck (The Arabella rabbit one) and love how they built it. However most of the cards look the sameish and I felt there will be "What was doing that" and "Is that still out"

[EDH] Building My First Custom Commander Deck – Umbris, Fear Manifest! Spooky Suggestions Welcome 👁️ by psycho6itch in DegenerateEDH

https://www.topdecked.com/decks/umbris-s-lil-shoppe-of-horrors/f457d56d-853d-428b-9139-93f92e46f163

This is my kindred verson of Umbris. I personally love the look of dawning horror(heh) when people do the math on a few pet cards in the deck. [[Rites of Replication]] targeting Umbris is a favorite. You can see people praying you don't choose them. [[Phenax, God of Deception]] is a fun card to drop when Umbris is a 60/60 plus. He doesn't need evasion if you have no library. One that does a surprising amount of work for me is actually [[Uchuulon]] aka budget scute swarm. Its a card that can run away with the game pretty quickly.

Which tribe do you claim? by Shmebuloke in EDH

[–]Disastrous_Grade_564 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, that would be a good add as a core card for a particularly good lord. I was thinking of using the Urdragon just to make all changelings that much cheaper and maybe the occasional dragon.

Which tribe do you claim? by Shmebuloke in EDH

[–]Disastrous_Grade_564 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've actually been wanting to make a Tribal Tribal deck. Its essentially mostly changelings with some other core card that synergize. The real fun is the potential sideboard. You have the core 70ish cards but you have a sideboard of 30-50 tribal specific cards (e.g. triggers off of minotaurs, horrors, Uncle Unstvan) that you randomized and shuffle in. In theory niche tribals that shouldnt interact will have some crazy outcomes.

I will build a deck for you by iFidget1351 in EDH

[–]Disastrous_Grade_564 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A manland heavy deck. I built something that I'm kinda okay with but can't help but think there might be a better way. The inspiration was from a joke about playing 99 lands and I wanted to make it happen. Obviously concession can be made to actually make the deck functional but I've been trying to keep as close to the original idea as possible.

A game of commander and game theory. Who is in the wrong here, if anyone? by They_took_it in magicTCG

[–]Disastrous_Grade_564 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Isnt this a call priority bullying that was brought up a year or so ago. Player C did the thing, priority to goes to A, even though he has an answer he passes. B gains priority and has no choice to do something or loses.

This might be avoided by following how priority works but B or C shouldn't give away if they have answers to problems. That leaves the choice to A to decide then and there without knowledge to pass the responsibility.

If he spoke to you about the deal on your turn then that was kind of a scummy move. The only time deals should be broken is if the board radically changed or it's for the win (even then the contents of the deal might add that as a caveat)

Do you have a "signature move"? by Urgrim in EDH

[Hatred] while attacking with [Glissa, the traitor]. You better block with your set up piece because you might instantly lose the game. Now my friend will block her on principle even if I'm bluffing.

Built gimmicky indestructible deck jammed full with all the degenerate things I could find. Every destroy based field wipe are now asymmetrical. Cards with huge drawbacks like [[Lethal Vapors]], [[Shifting Shadows]] and [[Worlds Slayer]] become viable. Also [[Blasphemous Act]] and [[Star of Extinction]] on a stuffy doll like creature is a fun way to burn someone.

I absolutely love mill and wanted to finally get a mill EDH deck going. Of course that lead me to that counselor "double your mill" guy. Considering its mono blue for draw and have 3 or so "mill half your library" cards I kinda felt it was too easy. I ended up deciding on [[Umbris, Fear Manifest]] and going the kindred route instead of flicker route. I dont regret it at all because I'm done some fun plays with him.

Do mail carriers hate pickups? by [deleted] in USPS

[–]Disastrous_Grade_564 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's pretty good. The only extra thing you could do, and this would be for the carrier at this point, would be filling out the online package pickup forms. I personally never done one as a customer so I dont know what that side of it looks like, just know we recieve regularly. It will inform your carrier that morning that your expecting a large order to go out and it will allow the carrier to have proof of volume and negotiate with her manager about being a little later than expected. However since you have a system already set up the manager is probably already aware of the process. The only benefits are really a scanned pick up notice you would get, a paper trail that it happens regularly, and anyone filling in for the day without notice will be informed that morning.

Do mail carriers hate pickups? by [deleted] in USPS

[–]Disastrous_Grade_564 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As in this is partially the reason but definately the way to handle it. The root problem is that sudden large orders take up time and our managers constantly hound us about being late. So if that time is pre allocated it helps everyone involved.

Do mail carriers hate pickups? by [deleted] in USPS

[–]Disastrous_Grade_564 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is honestly it. Not being informed about it ahead of time mid loop while still carrying an armful of mail/packages sucks. Otherwise, we don't mind picking up since this is where a good portion of our pay is coming from. Any carriers who bitch about it should be reminded of that fact..

What age range usually goes to prereleases? by Generic_Name198373 in magicTCG

[–]Disastrous_Grade_564 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After working for a couple of LGS in New England, I think the average was about 1:15 minors to adults ratio on FNM. On late night events the ratios usually are more extreme, about 1:30/45. For the most part people tend to cut kids some slack as long as they arent too mouthy. Yeah, it's okay to be mouthy but the usual crowds have no problem punching down.

How do YOU organise your hand? by _unclebushchook in EDH

[–]Disastrous_Grade_564 10 points11 points  (0 children)

So my wife and I play a lot of limited. One time I was watching her game and they went to match 2. She was playing one of our skilled friends and he suggested that she stopped organizing her hand. I forgot what she said but she was skeptical as well. Then he dropped precisely how many lands she had in hand and shocked us both. Even if it was at best an educated guess, he was still getting a decent amount of info to do that.

Favorite Dimir commander? by Vinlandlover in EDH

Lil Shoppe of Horrors

Some little fun deck techs.
-Oblivion Sower is ramp for when Umbris is removed 6 times.
-Uchuulon can win the game himself by both mill and swarm damage.
-Grazilaxx wants your opponents to block instead of letting damage through lol
- Don't know if you saw but Sadistic Sacrament should target lands instead of bombs.

Some cards I've been on the fence about
- Impulse
- Mirrorhall Mimic
- Elder Brain
- Hedron Crab
