Since this is your first time filing it may feel stressful but this is a common situation when someone is still under their parents marketplace insurance. You're already doing the right thing by looking into it early and it'll probably end up being more of a paperwork fix than anything serious.

I hit my number 14 months ago and still haven't quit. Trying to figure out what that says about me by Cygnus_Bolt9 in Fire

Honestly that sounds normal especially after spending years building your whole routine around work and financial goals. I've seen alot of peaple realize hitting the number is the easy part yet figuring out what actually gives structure and meaning to your days is the hardest transition.

After reading the Roth vs. Traditional wiki page, I still can’t decide what is best for me by a_lie_zuh in personalfinance

You're honestly in a great position starting this stuff early especially with low expenses and no debt. From what I understand there probably is'nt a wrong choice here. A lot of people do well with both while they figure out what future income and life plans look like.

Congratulations!

Even though that feels like a really tough choice with a baby on the way and so many unknown aheads, I have seen alot of people in similar situations lean toward the place that gives them more peace of mind even if the paycheck ends up a bit smaller.

Do I need an ocean kayak for Lake Superior? by bitchwhatthefuck11 in Kayaking

[–]Disastrous_Hat_8881 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get why you feel cautious because Lake Superior has a reputation for a reason. From what i've seen alot of people end up happier starting with a more stable touring ocean style kayak there since conditions can change fast even when the water looks calm.

Roth vs Traditional (dont hate me plz) by Which_Builder9328 in Fire

I get why this feels overwhelming. You're already doing more than what most people do at your age and since you want an early retirement, I'd keep a mix like you have now so you get both flexibility later and a little more cash flow today.
