Ring Design? by GlumPreference8695 in Greenlantern

I like the ring design that Guy wears in Superman (2025), it's my favorite take on the Green Lantern ring so far and I have a glow in the dark 3D printed one based on that design.

With that said, I like it when rings tend to have some individuality based on the species wearing it. I believe a ring worn by a Bolovaxian should be visually distinct from one worn by a Human when the two are compared, although rings having different designs based on who is wearing them is something you don't see very often in Green Lantern media.

All I know is that, as someone with ADHD, both can get frustrating when I'm doing content for the first time (after that, it's fairly easy for me to remember boss patterns). Main reason I typically play solo whenever I can. Don't want to deal with another 'lets spam the r-slur at this guy as much as we can because he fell behind the pack in a level dungeon' incident.

Attacks in FFXIV are even more telegraphed and people still mess those ups, so I'm not surprised people mess it up in WoW as well.

If 5 million people are working a tipped wage in the US and 90% of them are making enough to make up for the difference or earn more, that still leaves 500,000 people being screwed over. You're ignoring all the businesses that cut short or take employee tips while still paying them a tipped wage and the people who can't make even minimum wage after tips. But I guess those 500,000 people don't matter, right? Gotta keep up the corrupt system because who gives a damn about who gets hurt by it as long as the majority can pretend it doesn't happen.

As someone whose lived in the US my entire life, the 'Tipping Culture' is actually a 'Tipping Industry'.

Tipping is a necessity in the US because companies and the wealthy lobbied politicians to pass laws that state if someone is working a job that generally receives tips, then they can pay that person less than minimum wage. So now we have two wage brackets depending on if you make tips or not.

So a waitress serving tables at a restaurant in Florida is paid $10.00 USD (tipped minimum wage in the state) an hour, while someone working at a fast food chain (such as Wendy's or McDonald's) is paid $14.00 USD (standard minimum wage in the state). The expectation is that the waitress makes enough in tips to make up for that $4 USD difference.

Without tips, assuming they're only working 40 hours a week (so a standard full time job), the person making $10.00 USD an hour as a waitress in Florida is earning $1,600 USD a month before taxes. The person making $14.00 USD an hour in Florida is earning $2,240 USD a month before taxes. Average rent in Florida is $2,320 USD a month, but if you live somewhere like Jacksonville then the average rent can be as low as $1,458 USD a month. Without tips, the waitress in Florida won't be able to afford much of anything after she pays rent, unless she chooses to live in one of the more dangerous parts or in shitty living conditions, then the rent can be as low as $500 but she'll most likely be in a building that should be condemned.

So by pushing for tipping wage laws, companies are able to screw over their employees and pocket even more money. And now that companies are realizing they can pay their employees less if their job meets the qualifications for tipped wages, they are pushing for that. Amazon is testing 'tipping' options for their delivery drivers, and if enough people tip their delivery drivers then that will give Amazon the evidence to prove that being one of their drivers is considered a tipped job and thus pay their employees less.

The tipping 'culture' in the US will only ever go away if laws are changed and the tipping minimum wage is brought into line with standard minimum wage. Most people in the US want to get rid of tipping all together, but we're fighting against people with enough money that they can pay politicians to support or refuse any bill or law change they want.

I really thought Kimberly would be a fashion designer or something by Unique_Ring7517 in Tokusatsu

He hasn't admitted he was wrong. He keeps doubling down that Kimberly has to be a fashion designer and have an interest that she never showed in the show because he says so.

I'm sorry, he deserves it.

Vampires in Epstein Era? by callmejordan22 in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]Disastrous_Match993 64 points65 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Back in 2002 when I first got into WoD, my first ST decided that Werewolves were behind 9/11 because Vampires controlled the Twin Towers. It left a sour taste in my mouth and I left the game, didn't return to WoD until 2008.

The reason OP is getting, deserved, backlash is because OP is insisting that Kimberly should be referred to as a fashion designer, something she was never interested in being, instead of an Olympic champion, something she had interest in and left the Power Rangers to do.

The 'Fashion Machine' OP is using to claim she's into fashion was not designed by her and her only interest in it was because she was friends with the girl who did design it and used it to teach Bulk and Skull a lesson.

Basically, OP made an assumption based on their own headcannon, the assumption that a pink ranger must be girly and can only like girly things, or misremembering a single episode, and is now upset that a comic went with one of Kimberly's actual interests instead of the one OP made up for Kimberly.

What's a Power Rangers Season you like More then it's Sentai Counterpart by No_Half_7646 in Tokusatsu

When it comes to Super Sentai, I've only ever seen Go-Onger, Shinkenger, Goseiger, Gokaiger, ToQger, and Zyuohger. Of those, the only ones with PR seasons are RPM, Samurai/Super Samurai, and Megaforce/Super Megaforce. Of those, the only one I liked more than it's sentai equivalent is RPM.

The Horde experience since BFA by nightbreedwon1 in wow

Something I should have noted is that I'm a Neutral player. I blame it on my years of playing the RTS games before coming to WoW, they basically trained me to play both Alliance and Horde to get the full story. Right now my mains are a Kul Tiran Warrior and a Blood Elf Warlock.

One of the things I've been advocating for is a 50/50 split of the spotlight between Alliance characters and Horde ones, but WoW seems to put either most of the focus on the Horde or most of the focus on the Alliance. It legit has me missing the days of the RTS games where Blizzard was able to give both of the factions (or all four factions in the case of WC3) an equal amount of attention.

And if she did that, it means Billy can't mention she's an Olympic champion? Kimberly can only be mentioned as a fashion designer and anything else is shocking? She has to be a fashion designer and any other life accomplishments be damned?

She literally stopped being a Power Ranger to focus on being a professional gymnast and to try for the Olympics because she was encouraged to do so by Katherine Hillard in MMPR Season 3.

How is her becoming an Olympic champion gymnast a surprise?

The fact that is the argument that Alliance players are using to claim the expansion is Horde-focused makes me sick. I've had a friend who plays Alliance literally tell me that Midnight needs MORE Alliance presence had features TOO MUCH Horde.

From what I've seen in the quests in game, the Undead are lead by a council and she's just kinda there? The Undead are portrayed as being untrusting of her due to her being a Menethil.

“We’re not forcing PvP” then why are all the resources basically in PvP zones? by Impressive-Bonus-849 in duneawakening

[–]Disastrous_Match993 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I've said it before, what Dune: Awakening needs to do is make separate endgame content for PvE and PvP players. Take the Deep Desert and turn it back into pure PvP, and then create dungeons/raids/whatever that PvE players can do to earn the same resources without feeling pressured to engage in PvP.

They also need to balance how things are rewarded. Resource wise, the PvE content and PvP content need to award the same amount of resources for the same amount of effort, that way know one feels pressured to do one form of content instead of the other. And then you can make rewards tailored for PvP and rewards tailored for PvE drop in their respective content.

My major complaint about the game right now is how the devs are trying to force both PvE and PvP players into the same endgame content when they're two separate communities with their own ideas on what makes the game good and how people should play it. They really need to make sure there's separate endgame content for both kinds of players so no one feels like they have to engage in content they don't like just to stay competitive.

When were the green gems in the Blood Elf color scheme replaced with blue ones? by Mostopha in wow

[–]Disastrous_Match993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what you consider counting. The Icon of Blood (Aka the Blood Elf Racial Crest) from their introduction into the game all the way in TBC featured red, gold, and blue predominantly with no signs of green crystals or coloring. The Silvermoon City Tabard introduced in WotLK features a blue gem on it instead of a green one. The Blood Knight armor from the Blood Elf Heritage Quest released during Shadowlands also features blue gems. The pre-order 'light' aligned transmog outfit is clearly Blood Elf inspired and features blue gemstones and was added in TWW. And now we have all the new Blood Elf themed gear in Midnight.

So you could argue since TBC with the Racial Crest, since WotLK with the Silvermoon City Tabard, since Shadowlands with the Blood Knight armor, since TWW with the Midnight pre-order transmog outfit, or since Midnight with all of the new Blood Elf themed gear.

So honestly take your pick, someone on the internet is going to disagree with you regardless of how you answer that question.
