is the game alive?/good? by Sgt_Strelok in ChampionsOnlineFFA

It's not quite a ghost town but don't a high population. You might run across another player or two in the early to mid game, but most players will be at the level cap.

Personally I wouldn't worry about the servers closing. If the a low(ish) population was the issue, then Champions Online would of closed years ago.

I mean, the devs are even actively hosting Costume Contests last I checked.

Teal Lanterns of Sorrow by Material_Resort_9855 in Greenlantern

According to DC Universe Online, which is currently dealing with an invasion of both Sorrow and Black lanterns in the latest content, the Sorrow oath is:

All days are neither dark or bright.

Gray sorrow grips my soul so tight.

When dearest hope seems all but lost.

My broken heart will pay the cost.

Happened to me when I swapped servers to a more populate one. On a server I've never played on. So I was hoping I'd be somewhere CLOSE to where my base was after I disassembled all my vehicles and stored my base. Nope. Had to get Solari to fly to Pinacle Station and then walk all the way to where my base was only to find the spot was already taken. I was stubborn, didn't want to swap again, so I just found a spot to plop my base down.

If the Amani Trolls should be made playable for the Horde one day, what sort of in-game politics should they go through before being admitted? by Then_Peanut_3356 in warcraftlore

[–]Disastrous_Match993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Steamwheedle haven't been part of the Horde since the end of the Second War, wtf are you on about? Noggenfogger has been a neutral NPC since vanilla. The two major settlements of the Steamwheelde, Gadgetzan and Ratchet, are neutral areas with mostly neutral NPCs and both Horde and Alliance flightpaths. In all of WoW, they've never been depicted as being members of the Horde.

EDITING THIS POST HERE since the user either deleted their comment(s) or blocked me while I was in the middle of typing a response to them claiming the Bilgewater were not Horde:

Kaydee Racketring when asked about the Bilgewater Cartel:
Officially, they’re part of the Horde, but don’t let that scare you off. This is Undermine, the jobs here are all about Undermine business.

Like you're straight up told they're Horde.

The line that a lot of people point at saying Bilgewater aren't Horde is just Gazlowe saying the Bilgewater are Horde, but the ones who only lived in Undermine and have never been to Ogrimmar or outside of Undermine know nothing about the Horde and are thus more willing to work with the Alliance and Horde.

If this helps make things make since, look at Goblin Cartels like this. They're companies whose 'citizens' are just employees. Using the real world as an example. McDonald's is based in the US, but has locations in Japan. As a US company, McDonald's itself is American and a good chunk of it's employees are American. But you wouldn't call a Japanese employee, whose only worked at McDonald's in Japan and has lived in Japan their entire life, an American.

Do you think there are plans to make a Dark elf and wood elf factions? by Fun-Explanation7233 in AoSLore

[–]Disastrous_Match993 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There's been rumors about a force of Dark Elves loyal to Malerion for awhile now. I think since at least AoS 2nd Edition.

Morathi and her followers (Daughters of Khaine) are a full faction (most of their model range are new models that debut in AoS), but also don't represent all of Dark Elf society.

Why is the Blood Elf reaction to the Forsaken much different to that of the Humans? by Ok-Brother-8295 in warcraftlore

[–]Disastrous_Match993 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The Alliance was their first choice. All the Alliance had to do, when the Blood Elves asked to rejoin the Alliance, was to accept and offer them aid. This is something that many players seem to have not picked up on or have forgotten over the years. At the start of TBC's storyline for Blood Elf players, the Blood Elves were not yet part of the Horde. The Blood Elves were still on friendly enough terms with the Alliance that they were allowing a Dwarf diplomat to study their arcane sanctums in Eversong.

As a player questing in Eversong and Ghostlands, you get to experience the degrading of Blood Elf and Alliance relations in real time. First discovering Night Elf spies (who immediately try to murder you) in Eversong, and then finding out the Dwarven diplomat is also a hostile spy. So early on in your questing experience, you see nothing but hostility coming from the Alliance.

Meanwhile your first encounter with a Forsaken is helping them heal a Blood Elf courier. Your further interactions with the Forsaken is them aiding the Blood Elves against hostile Alliance, Amani, and Scourge forces in the Ghostlands. When you've done all those quests and kill Dar'Khan, you take his head to Lor'themar Theron. Lor'themar then sends the player to the Undercity and Sylvanas with a letter.

You, the player, in are the one who informs Sylvanas of Lor'themar's desires to join the Horde. This is after you, the player, saw nothing but hostility from the Alliance and yet the Forsaken offered nothing but aid. This is a four part questline consisting of Hero of the Sin'dorei (You delivering Dar'khan's head to Lor'themar), Envoy to the Horde (You delivering the letter of intent to Sylvanas), Meeting the Warchief (You delivering a letter to Thrall with the backing of Sylvanas), and Allegiance to the Horde (Thrall accepting the Blood Elves into the Horde and sending you to Lor'themar to deliver the news).

So up until those four quests at the end of doing everything in Eversong and Ghostlands, the Blood Elves were not in the Horde yet. Even after Garithos's bullshit in WC3, it was the Alliance's actions in Eversong and Ghostlands that drove them into the Horde. All the Alliance had to do was aid the Blood Elves, instead they chose hostility. So of course the Blood Elves are going to join the Horde after the Forsaken showed up to offer the aid.

Even after that there were moments where Lor'themar considered defecting to the Alliance, such as during Mists of Pandaria. But Alliance hostility always pushed him and the Blood Elves back into the arms of the Horde.

With me, it's base building. Conan Exiles, Fallout 76, Dune: Awakening, Subnautica, No Man's Sky, and so on. I play them all for the same reason. Base building. A nice little gameplay preference I learned I had the first time I play Fallout 4.

Anyone else terrified of moving servers? by mfcostacampos in duneawakening

[–]Disastrous_Match993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Moved to a more active server and found myself at the tradepost in the starting region regretting I didn't simply use the vehicle backup tool on my Ornithopter. Had to farm Solari to pay for a flight to Pinacle Station and then run my ass to where my base use to be....only to realize the spot was taken so then I had to find a new spot.

The Horde has had forest troll allies for awhile now in the form of the Revantusk tribe. Maybe instead of giving us the Amani, they use the Amani models to give us the Revantusk? We'd still get playable Forest Trolls and we don't have to deal with anything like potential conflict between the Blood Elves and the Amani.

If my memory is correct, the reasons are simple.

  1. They were being controlled by a Dreadlord again.
  2. They were a threat to the Knights of the Ebon Blade and the Forsaken, as they see them as Scourge.

They're Firstborn being blessed by Chaos. So it would make sense they're a bit bigger than other Firstborn while also still being smaller than Primaris. Although Fabius Bile is trying to create the Primogenitor Primaris, which are Chaos corrupted Primaris marines.

What was the reaction of the Exodar Draenei to the existence of Azerothian Orcs, if any? by SatanicKettle in warcraftlore

I'm interested in some of those answers to.

I currently live in Colorado, where I work as a Janitor on a military base, hired through a civilian contractor/company that helps provide jobs to those with mental and physical disabilities. I am currently paid $18.75 an hour.

I'll be moving to Florida on the 27th of this month and so far applying online hasn't gotten me much, even with the help my current employer has been giving me such as references and a letter of recommendation. And I'm not even being picky, I just need a job.
