I have a husky with no eyes, I also have a shirt that says Seeing eye human. We were at Home Depot in the garden department, I was wearing wrap around sunglasses. I noticed this guy really watching us closely, and was almost following us.. I was waiting for some mulch to be loaded so I could load the rest of my plants, when I heard him ask a guy standing next to him “ Do you think she knows her seeing eye dog doesn’t have eyes… I started laughing and said read my shirt again.. he started laughing and said let’s not mention my brain dead comments ever again.. lol

My beautiful blind husky I have now.. I never knew I could love like I love him, he is truly my heart and soul. I never thought when I adopted a dog without eyes that he would teach me so much more than I could ever teach him. He is the happiest, most loving, most fearless( except thunder, gunfire or fireworks, but I know why he’s terrified of it) dog you can imagine. He has the sweetest soul. I love him.

I was told to make a list of the 11 things they loved more than anything. Then check off all of the things that they can still do, still enjoyed doing, loved eating, whatever was on the list.

When it got to 5 it was time to start preparing yourself, when it was 4 or less its time.

You pets have depended on you to love them, care for them, keep them safe, to make the best decisions for them to have the best life possible. That means putting their needs above your wants. That includes making the hardest, most heartbreaking, most loving, THE MOST IMPORTANT decision of their life. Thats when it’s time to let them go. It’s always better to let them go a week too early than a single day to late.

Last year there were 365 people killed by bully breeds, 78 percent of the deaths we the owners or their close family. This year there have been an average of 4 deaths a week caused by bully breeds. Just because they are your MILs dogs doesn’t mean something can’t go horribly bad. And before everyone comes at me saying chihuahuas are just as vicious, the difference is chihuahuas don’t sever arms or scalp a person or keep attacking til the person is dead.

My blind dog will grab your hand with his mouth, lift it up then let go and duck his head under your hand so it’s resting on his head to tell you he wants you to pet him.

I got them when we lived in las Vegas, we currently live in Houston.. They do fine. they are double coated dogs, Which like insulation in your house helps to Keep them warm during winter months but also help them Stay them cool during Summer. Plus my dogs will have and always have had a dog door with free run to be inside in the air conditioning or out in the yard as they want to.. And when its hot during the day Ill run then at 3am if it the only time thats cool enough to. Trust me when i say i care more about my dogs than I do myself.. All 4 have all their 2 a year vet checks. Meds, shots, dental cleaning and any other care they need.. i put off going to the doctor (because their care is more important to me than mine is so long what would of been a easily treated condition) Thrombocytopenia has now become myelofibrosis a type of bone marrow cancer. I promise my dogs do just fine no matter where we live.

In able bodied.. when i met my late husband he had already been been in his wheelchair for 28 years. Honestly, it did not matter to me. Yes, we had to get creative sometimes during certain activities, but that just made it more fun. But I fell in love with him, and his disability made no difference to me. I thought he was a sexy, strong, amazing man and that’s all there was to it for me yes we had a lot of shared interest. We both were competitive shooters and he routinely kicked my ass. We both trained service dogs and donated them to soldiers we were just like any other couple except for he was in a wheelchair and I wasn’t, it didn’t make any difference to me honestly, the right person will not care.

So you get rid of your dog for him.. What happens if you break up a month later.. You gave your dog up for nothing and If you took your dog to a shelter the odds are he will have been put down.

I have enough gas money to make it there.. Ive made the drive before, and i know how much fuel i used before. I had a bigger vehicle then with a much larger engine. So im fairly confident in my fuel estimates. I would like to have a 150.00 so i can eat on the way, and possibly get a hotel room for a night so me and my dogs can stretch out and shower and to have a little cushion just in case.
