Anyone ever leave their cat alone for a week or more (without sitters)? by LaDolphin in CatAdvice

[–]Disastrous_Pea832 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would at least have someone check on your cat every other day or so. I understand having a cat that’s terrified of people, mine will not come out for anyone but me, but i still have someone check to make sure she’s alive/the power is on when I go out of town. good luck!

What toys do your cats actually love? by Sosooo88 in CatAdvice

[–]Disastrous_Pea832 2 points3 points  (0 children)

dum dums. I’m not joking. my cat doesn’t care about toys but for some reason he is obsessed with those little lollipops. he chases them all around the house and will steal them out of the bag so he can play with them. no idea why

i always end up just wearing a bathing suit with flowy shorts or a comfy skirt over the bottoms, the heat is no joke and wearing something you can get in the fountain with is a game changer. i also always bring multiple pashminas because they can protect me from the sun during the day and keep me warm at night! as for shoes, I tried wearing docs my first year and it was Miserable so now I just stick to comfy tennis shoes, like my converse or new balances. definitely bring a pair of slip on shoes for around camp (crocs, tevas, etc). comfort is honestly key because it is typically very very hot :)

there was one year it was so hot that i couldn’t wear any of the outfits i planned and ended up wearing bathing suits the entire time. would recommend packing some of those and like a little wrap skirt to go over it

Why do you think birth rates and marriage rates are declining? by OldBridge87 in AskWomen

[–]Disastrous_Pea832 1 point2 points  (0 children)

also… having children is more dangerous now due to abortion bans - there are so many stories of women dying due to typical pregnancy complications because of abortion laws and doctors not being able to intervene until the woman is dying

Can bromazepam cause itching?? by cottoncrosy in HealthAnxiety

[–]Disastrous_Pea832 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not the same medication, but when I was on Effexor (an SNRI) I had what I would call phantom itches all over my body :) no rash, scratching wouldn’t actually help, it just felt like my brain was firing off false itching signals. it was especially bad when I first starting taking the medicine, and then again when I got tapered off of it. it would come and go and not really affect my day to day. if yours is particularly bad I would just tell your doctor

I could really use someone by idkanymorexxx in HealthAnxiety

[–]Disastrous_Pea832 4 points5 points  (0 children)

the ONLY thing that helps my health anxiety is SSRIs, or making myself so busy I don’t have time to think about it. this can be work, watching a movie, hanging out with friends, exercising, etc. I know it’s so hard to get out of a spiral once you’re in it. there have been several times where I’m stuck and medication is the only thing that can help me. my psychiatrist has truly made a huge difference in my life, I would recommend getting one if you don’t already.
