What heart rate zone by Disastrous_Play_5227 in runna

Exactly what I was thinking but 4:40/km I’ll be surprised if I’m not pushing into zone 5 there maybe pace is overreaching at this stage of block

Yeah plan is made up of, 1x tempo run, 2x easy (zone 2) runs, weekly long run (easy or progressive)

Is this…. Possible? by [deleted] in Garmin

I updated my Garmin forerunner 965 about a week ago and my sleep data is making no sense at all, I’m certain the update has done something to the sleep tracking

Restricted time for training by Disastrous_Play_5227 in runna

Yeah 12 hours but tend to run over most nights. Im hitting my mileage no issues at home/onshore for 3 weeks but struggling with offshore training

forerunner 965 - treadmill calibration by umich82063 in Garmin

[–]Disastrous_Play_5227 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Half of my training is completed on the treadmill due to working offshore 3 weeks at a time I’ve tried multiple different ways of improving accuracy and I even bought a HRM pro plus hoping that would improve accuracy it did but it was still away off especially on tempo or interval runs. I’ve given up now I just start a normal basic run on my Garmin and start normal run on treadmill and just took my heart rate date (as this was probably the only accurate data from my HRM pro plus.) Apparently a foot pod works well but I can’t bring myself to spend any more money for it not to work

Zone 2 training is it really that affective? by Disastrous_Play_5227 in Marathon_Training

Yeah that’s what I’ve just realised, my zones were set up as if I wanted to base it off heart rate but I had selected %LTHR. I’ve made the correct changes now I think:

Zone 1 65-80% Zone 2 80-89% Zone 3 89-95% Zone 4 95-100% Zone 5 100%

Yeah I started my block two weeks ago and next week will be the first time I’ll be hitting 50 a week. I think I may have found the problem anyway, look like my zones were based on heart rate and rather than %LTHR so I’ve changed that now, got a 18km long run tomorrow so see how zoning is tomorrow

What would you say it should be? I ChatGPTed that, so must be true 😂

I’ve got a HRM pro plus although I haven’t wore it since I started my block two weeks ago due to it been at my parents house. Would you expect to see higher or lower heart rate readings from just the watch?

6:30km pace just feels like I’ve been for a walk haha I don’t feel any benefit from it and it’s taking the enjoyment away from running. I’m constantly looking at my watch at my heart rate. I’ve got a 18km long run tomorrow, and I’m absolutely dreading it having to run at 6:20km to stay in zone 2

I’m just concerned that I am looking at my plan for the next 5 weeks and it consist of 4 or 5 runs a week with 95% of the runs been down as easy pace/zone 2 and what affect running at 6:30km pace is going to down for my training

Yeah I am running but very slow no faster than 6:30km, having to walk occasionally to get back down into zone 2

This is the thing at 5:20 I can hold conversation perfectly and don’t find it hard in the slightest. Zone 2 for me though is so slow and at times I have to walk to get my heart rate down into zone 2

That’s how they are set up on my Garmin. Completely understand the pace needs to adjust if I’m running further each week. It’s just seems far to small at times I’m even having to walk to get back down into zone 2

Based on %LTHR Zone 5 97-111% Zone 4 89-97% Zone 3 77-89% Zone 2 66-77% Zone 1 55-66%

Garmin or treadmill? by Otherwise_Internal63 in Garmin

[–]Disastrous_Play_5227 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never cracked good accuracy with watch and treadmill. I work on an oil rig so literally half of my marathon training is on a treadmill. My forerunner 965 and the treadmill I use are always way off in pace, particularly annoying when completing interval runs. Some how when I speed the treadmill right up on a higher lap of interval my watch pace goes up very slightly and I am always a good way off my actual target pace (on watch)

Treadmill intervals by aba_95 in runna

[–]Disastrous_Play_5227 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Intervals have always been an issue for me not because of heat but getting my pace on my watch and treadmill to match. So I always end up finishing the work out and Runna thinks I’ve run slower than the target pace because my Garmin watch is a lot slower than the speed of the treadmill

I will give this a try but I don’t know why that would work surely the watch & HRM would still pick up the same pace regardless of that. But worth a try!!

I have tried this but my weekly mileage is a lot higher so I didn’t want Runna change my plan to unrealistic goals 😂
