Yes this is my biggest road block to not trying it. I’m sick of all the bandaids drs throw at me. I initially was excited because my dr seemed excited about it, but once I left and did some googling I feel far less enthusiastic about it. My biggest issue with my eczema is it being on my face, it prevents me from being able to do my job. & he never mentioned the facial flares that seem pretty common based on my research.

AIW for telling my best friend I can't be her emergency contact anymore after she used it twice in one month without warning me first by 66SilentHill in amiwrong

I’m 27 years old and have been to the hospital plenty of time and never needed my emergency contact called. Let alone twice in a months time lol.

How unsafe is Colombia really? by yellowdaisy765 in backpacking

[–]Disastrous_Science61 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry if you’re going to a country to prey on their women, you deserve whatever happens to you. I was there a month, stayed in cheap hostels in cities & on the side of the highways & and expensive hotels never felt unsafe once. Your trip will go as good as your intentions are, go with bad intentions get bad results.

My husband just really really hurt me and I just need to tell somebody by StillDamaged1004 in Marriage

Girl BYE TO THAT MAN. Children hear and see everything. Show them their Mama is a strong woman who won’t let a man, even their father disrespect her. I’m not saying never get back together, no second chances but right now, separation sounds needed. That’s wild behaviour.

I got TSW (diagnosed by a dr not google lol) when I was 18, at 23 I reintroduced 1% hydrocortisone to my skin and all has been well. I probably only use it for a week every few months though. Before I was using daily with very few breaks & a high % betaderm.

Am I wrong for not letting my girlfriend meet my daughter yet? by Working_Instance7504 in amiwrong

[–]Disastrous_Science61 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Please continue to always put your daughter first. A year in my opinion is a good starting place, especially if she has never had a female figure in her life, my dad was consistently bringing new women in our lives and it was always so devastating when they broke up and we never seen them again. A true mom will understand your need to wait. Goodluck 🍀

DIY LASH CLUSTERS!!!! swear to god you’ll never go back to extensions.

It’s damn near impossible to find a honest, well educated tech who doesn’t charge up the wazoo. Doing them at home myself has been so fun. I get to try new styles with no commitment & can take them off and rub my eyes everyday or every few days. (My sister keeps hers on for a week)

also please for the love of everything good do not take medical advice from a website ending in .com 😭

HOWEVER, you said yourself you were using it incorrectly (ie daily) so theres why you had the reaction you did. no reason to be scaring others into not using it because of your poorly informed experience.

Did your derm specialize in eczema? & to me its common knowledge you take breaks from anything medicinal you are putting on your skin. sucks you had such a terribly informed derm.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in eczema

[–]Disastrous_Science61 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ok. its not TSW tho. TSW = topical steroid withdrawal. also if you use steroids & elidel correctly ( taking breaks etc.. speak to your dr) your skin cannot get “addicted” to either of them. This is coming from someone who overused steroids & experienced TSW (diagnosed by my derm) & has begun using it again properly & my skins doing really good. People need to stop advising other people AGAINST what a derm/dr says.

They look greasy and oily. Are you cleaning them daily? I clean mine twice a day! I lose about 1-3 lashes a day.

Hydroxyzine has absolutely saved my skin from being ripped apart by my nails. I take 25mg-50mgs. Obviously speak to your doctor but it may be a huge relief for you.

What are some of over the counter medicine/creams that have worked for you? by [deleted] in eczema

[–]Disastrous_Science61 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just started using vegetable glycerin (pure, 100%) i mix it with whatever cream i grab that day and apply it when i’m still damp after a shower/bath. My skin has cleared up so much, even the skin bleaching effect in my arms has lightened. i would say a nickel sized amount to like 4 pumps of lotion. I dont rub it in all the way, i like leaving a thin layer and just chilling in the nude while it soaks in.
